Square Enix has been awful silent about the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but that doesn't mean it's gone and forgotten. To the contrary, in the latest issue of EGM -- hitting shelves September 4 -- Quartermann is abuzz about a series of prequels currently in-the-works for a number of consoles and handhelds. Think along the same lines as what's happened with Final Fantasy VII -- let's just hope the games are better this time. Quartermann also contends another popular rumor still has life in it: Okami on Wii. Capcom is already working on an upgraded port of the overlooked Zelda-sty-le adventure, complete with Wiimote support.

Oh, and one last tidbit for comic book kids. Were you worried the botched Batman Begins game meant that Batman in Lego form would be your only outlet for catching criminals in Gotham City? Fear not, as a popular studio is currently working on an open-ended (think Grand Theft Auto) take on the caped crusader.

If true, Okami would probably get the attention and sales it deserves if it does come out for the Wii. I hope it happens. Okami and the Wii-mote seems like they were made for each other, don't you all agree?

I'm not sure if Okami for the WIi will get the attention it so richly deserves. I'll play it for sure, and I'm certain that Wii owners who've played it before most likely will as well. Capcom needs to invest more $ in marketing Okami this time around. The Wii is obviously owned by a ranging age demographic. Capcom needs to throw a wide net in order to capture the attention of such a wide demographic. If Okami can do for the Wii version what RE4 did, this will be one heck of a port.

I love Okami to death, but unless they release it at a budget price I doubt I would buy it again for the Wii.

I think I would too, though I generally try to avoid buying a game more than once. Some games are worth it though, eg RE4

Given the massive popularity of Kingdom Hearts (one of the Kingdom Hearts, I forget which, put up bigger numbers than any Final Fantasy) I wouldn't be surprised if Squenix started to intensively milk KH.

AGH! I was going to get Okami for the PS2 soon, and now this rumor is going to force me to wait it out for the Wii :O

If RE4's port is any indication, this game will be great on the Wii!!!

Well, in all fairness the game didn't get the attention it deserved on the PS2, so there's no reason to think it would fare better on the PS3. A change in audience could potentially help it.

After the money I wasted on RE4 Wii, it had better have some worthwhile additional content for me to buy Okami again. Then again, I just adore this game, even if it's way too easy.

I loved Okami and always thought it would be a great fit for the Wii so I can't say I'm totally surprised with the rumour. I'd definately buy it again if it was priced the same as RE4, another game I'd love to get even though I've played through it multiple times on the GC.

I really enjoyed the two Kingdom Hearts games on the PS2 so I'm looking forward to what will be coming out next in the franchise.

Nice, I'm hyped for that Batman game. A few weeks ago I wrote this in a thread about prototype.

Games like Prototype make me wish for an open ended Batman game... something that combined all the radness that is a sandbox game, with crime solving detective work.  It is frustrating that the Batman games we see are always based on movies, because you can't make a good game if you are trying to get it to release alongside the movie... I know I'm derailing my own thread, but it would be amazing to see a Batman game that was a hybrid of sandbox games and old school adventure game Police Quest radness... where you spend just as much time exploring crime scenes as you do patrolling the city for bad guys... you could do so much with a day versus night, Bruce Wayne versus Batman sty-le of game.rragnaar

So basically, I speak, and developers listen... in my dreams.  I'm sure the reality of this game won't match my imagination, but it is a step in the right direction.
