So I just got this game, and during the beginning mission where you climb the first radio tower, my game started going haywire and causing this huge glitch where grass textures would show up vertically everywhere. I could still walk around, but I would be surrounded by vertical slices of grass, rendering the game unplayable. I quit and reloaded the game, which fixed it for a while, but after a couple minutes it would happen again. Here's a few screens to show what I'm talking about:

My specs:

CPU: 3570k

GPU: GTX 670 4GB

RAM: 8 GB

Mobo: Asrock Z77

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Those are artifacts. Probably a bad Gpu ( those artifacts make me believe is bad vram ) or a driver issue. Is far Cry 3 the only game that does that ( if yes then either a driver issue or a game bug ). Try other intensive games mainly ones that are vram intensive ( crysis 3 and bioshock infinite comes to mind )

What does "bad vram" mean exactly? And yeah, this game is the only one that does that. I don't have Crysis 3 or Bioshock Infinite.

bad vram would mean you need to replace the graphics card. But it might not be that. You can go through the standard checks. Clean out your tower, disconnect the card and clear the ports with canned air (dust can seriously wreak havoc on an otherwise healthy machine). Test your power source. But see how hot your card is running when the artifacts occur, first. Heat can do this and heat can be caused by a number of things.

It could be a hardware problem, or it could be a software problem. Are you running in DX9 or DX11? And are you using any mods or shaders?

I'm running DX11. No mods or shaders. And its definitely not the card running hot. Upon googling the problem a bit more, it seems that it happens with GTX 6-series cards, but even now there doesn't seem to be a definitive fix for it. :(

Have you tried running it in DX9?
