Adventure games. Give me a land to explore, cool stuff to find and a story.

That said, my favorite game of all time is probably still Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

@lucianocasanova: No, I like lots of fighters: Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, Last Bronx, Fighters Megamix, Dark Stalkers, etc. I didn't vote for it, because I've only bought SSFIV in recent years.

RTS is my favorite game genre of all time followed close behind by RPG's. Problem is though hasn't really been an RTS to catch my eye in several years.

Arcade racers for me

Though there are a few decent racing sims

RPG that were you affect the character(s) role in the game play like stats. I do not care about dialog or moral picks. In fact I hate dialog and moral choose in RPG.

Souls-like should be a new genre.
