[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

[QUOTE="DerveCreaves"] I am the one that brought up combat now you what does what you said have to do with anything? The most common complaint about XIII is theautobattle system making the combat lesser of combat, read reviews. Also, my other question.\, about the Jrpgs that fit what I am looking for?DerveCreaves

I said FFXIII was just combat, combat, combat, meaning you pretty much just fight and do nothing else (besides watch cutscenes). You were the one that started focusing on the autobattle when it was pretty obvious I meant that the game didn't have much to do other than getting into battles.

Anyway, if you want an JRPG with huge locations and alot of exploration, check out Xenoblade Chronicles. It has no real time sidequests, but it has a ridiculously big world to explore and there are tons of beautiful locations that are huge and open.

Like I said before, most people don't consider it combat because there is little input which is why lots of people hate it, so I assumed you would get what I was trying to make a joke out of, but that did not happen. Also, Xenoblade ok.

Also, Xenoblade actually gives you lots of experience points for discovering new or secrets parts of the world, so it actually rewards you for taking detours and exploring everything you can.

[QUOTE="DerveCreaves"] What's the difference between persona 3 and 4?DerveCreaves

Basically everything, a new story, new characters, revamped combat system, new and rebalanced personas, new social links (people you go with), new places, different dungeons, etc. The core elements are kept, like the day-per-day advance, or the creation of social links and the combat elements, but most of it has been enhanced and all story-related elements completelly changed, its like going from a numbered FF to another.

Is it more explorish?

Pretty similar, but since you have more stats to upgrade (outside battles), and more involving actions (like taking jobs and so on, that can double as social links), and all your main characters have social links almost immediatly after you add them to your party, you can hang out with them outside the main storyline sooner, i think it feels more varied. Also, in terms of dungeon exploring, instead of just 1 massive dungeon, you open many of them (all different) and you can revisit some of them to fight optional bosses, get rare items and so on.

Persona has great ideas with deep combat but lacks a world to pull you in. Xenoblade apparently reading reviews has the opposite problem. So I guess what I am really looking for is not wha I thought it was. I am looking for an indepth Jrpg with good sotry and interaction with an atmosphere to get sucked while having varied and customizable combat. But those usually are in the Wrpg genre though, I guess I'll just have to try more Jrpgs until one sticks then unless there are games that combine the two. i will try out Persona and see how it works.

Well now, that sounds quite interesting. So different dungeons and more outside interaction. Optional bosses as well. But aren't there like 5 Persna 4's? Which one do I play?

Just out of curiosity, what is an example of a WRPG that you like?

There are only two Persona 4s, one on Vita and one on Playstation 2. If you have a Vita, go with the Vita version. It has more content.

There are 2 Persona 4 RPG games.

Persona 4 = Ps2.

And Persona 4 Golden = PS Vita.

Get the one you can. The Vita version is like P4 with some extras, but if you can only play the original version fear not, its still awesome.

The only other Persona 4 title is Persona 4 Arena (360, PS3) and its a fighting game, so dont worry about it.

Oh it's a fighting game. Ok, that clears that confusion.

FFVI. I played that game upon its release as FFIII in the U.S. and the overworld music would still pop into my head even though I didn't play it again until my mid-twenties.
