Every game should have a time counter for how long you have played the game.aspro73
That would be a great feature. Most of the time when I'm asked how much time I spent with a game I just have to make something up.

That's a great idea.Would be pretty useful for speed running.
I agree with save anywhere and cutscene playback and pause FREEROAMING DOWNTIME like GTA series...if you know what i mean, things to do inbetween missions or you can just run around killin pplPausing during cutsenes.
Sometimes, I just want to pee, damn it!

Think of one or 2 features you wished every single game had to make them more enjoyable.
1. Save anywhere. Okay I can understand not being able to save in the middle of a battle, but I think it's acceptable to allow you to save any time before or after the pockets of action.
2. Cutscene playback: Once you've seen a cutscene, ANY cutscence, it should be unlocked and viewable in the options menu. Is that too much to ask?

Full construction set for users to create their own content. Like neverwinter nights and the elder scrolls.
Definitely cutscene skipping/pausing/subtitles (though I do have to admit more and more games are starting to do this).
Maybe not a "save anywhere" feature (that would take the difficulty out of some games), but rather maybe a "temporary save" feature, like the one used in Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. You could save anywhere, but when you loaded the temporary save file, that file was erased, and if you then died, you would restart from the last "hard save" spot. It would allow people to save and quit whenever they wanted, but it would not defang the difficulty level of some games (which sometimes relies on having you do multiple difficult tasks in a row).
Cutscenes that can be paused and skipped. With optional subtitles too.
Adjustable volumes for music, voices, and sound effects.
And probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting.
Almost forgot and it might have been said sinceI posted, but...
The ability to play without a Heads Up Display (HUD). After playing B&W most elements on a HUD seem pointless or could have been put into the actual gameplay. Honestly, so many FPSs have a number that tells you how many bullets are left in your gun, but wouldn't you rather just sort of keep track mentally, or find out the hard way? I can understand that somethings (like life remaining) are often needed due to technical limitations, but I would like to see less numbers& textand more game screen.
Well....I would have to say customization to a certain degree. I hate being limited to having the same weapons over and over again, without any option to upgrade them somehow. Also a feature which lets you change yoyur appearance wouldn't go a miss..
Also the option to explore more, instead of going straight from one level to the next. GTA is one of my favourite games, simply because it has implemented that feature into it's gameplay straight away from the start of the game. Therefore you can play the game at your own pace and not feel pressured to attempt the next mission straightaway.
This one applies mainly to console RPGs, but it would be really nice if they included a synopsis so that if you leave an RPG for while, you'll know what you have to do next when you play it again.King9999
Yes. That's one of the things I desire as well. I left Tales of Phantasia for a while, and when I came back to it, I didn't know what was happening in the story or what I was supposed to do.
