Final Fantasy Game with the Best Musical Score...

What Final Fantasy has the best music to you?

Let me just say for starters that all FF games have great, great music. I was just commenting in the PS3 forum that the thing that stuck out in the new FF13 demo was the battle theme and how awesome it was.

For me, it's a toss up between 4 and 7. 4 had that epic adventure style to it and I still find them stuck in my head from time to time on random occurrances. 7's score brought so much atmosphere to the game. The tunes were creepy and eerie in many cases and added a lot of emotion to the game. Both games had the best overworld map themes... especially 7's.

I am only part way through FF12 and love the music there as well.

All I know is that FFVI's battle them music is my favorite and I haven't even played the game yet. I've only played 3, 4, 10, 10-2, and 12 so my views are limited.

This is hard. I guess IX had the best (barely). IV, VI, VII and VIII were also excellent.

Honestly, I'd say Final Fantasy VII. It was varied, catchy, and sometimes emotional. And nothing sounded like it. It had a very unique quality. But I wonder how Final Fantasy VI would sound on a modern system or in an orchestra.

EDIT: Nevermind, Terra's Theme sounds amazing when it's orchestrated. I guess it's a tie now between FFVI and VII.

Ooh same here! Both have really amazing soundtracks. Sometimes if my ipod's with me, I'll play the tunes right as I'm jogging.

I absolutely love the music in FF7.

Final fantasy Nine has the best musical score in im opinion.

IX is my favorite out of the lot of them, but they are all absolutely outstanding. My favorite trackis Loss of Me.

FFVII but they all have great music :D

Final Fantasy X anf Final Fantasy XII

FF VI

Though I like a lot of 'em... FFX's gotta be my favorite.

All Final Fantasies 5-10 had great music. (4 had some nice ones, too, just not as much as 5-10, IMO)

But the best for me would be FFVII, with FFX very close behind it, and then FFVI very close behind FFX. :P

VIII or VI.

I liked the music from Fianl Fantasy XIII. That music was awesome. Can't wait till the soundtrack comes out.

It's gotta be FFVII for me. I have only played 3,4 7 and 8, though...

It isn't a mainline FF game, but I'd give the nod to FF Tactics.

I've never heard such consistent variety of high quality music as I have in VI. Almost every track in that game is catchy and unique (especially the Veldt, where Gau is found.)
