I'm both of those I probably suck because I hate them and get not an ounce of enjoyment out of them, mainly i'm refering to the online side of them as I love half life etc. But with all the fps' that litter the market these days and there are quite a few, which games do you get your enjoyment out of?

I'm okay in shooters, but I have grown to hate them over the years. They're this gen's JRPG - stale rereleases and clones of the same games, over and over again. Sure, there's obviously money thrown into to many of the projects which results in generic experiences with polish, but that doesn't make the underlying game any less boring.

There's nothing like a long, immersive RPG.

I think I'm good at FPS'. I rarely play them these days as I don't want a game that lasts 4-8 hours of SP play.

RPGS and RTS or if you feel old school, point and click adventure games.

I play very very little fps and I am so hilariously bad. But currently I've been into Bad Company 2 which is really insane, it feels so awesome with the graphic and the destructable environment and buildings. :p

I also like how you get points for marking enemies you see, which means that even if you fail to kill that dude from far away, if you mark him, you'll still get some points when someone takes him out.

I hate FPS, but I'm amazing at them, I really am very skilled at them which is shocking. I'm an excellent aim with a knack for swift kills. But I hate the games because they're so boring, so easy and catered to those who don't want to think, only shoot. And they flood the market, they're all too much fo the same tired thing.

The few games I like with FP views are ones like Fallout 3, New Vegas - well once they fix the game, Mirror's Edge and a handful of others. But I hate COD, Halo and other ones because they're too simple. There's only so much dumb shooting you can do before you long for something to think about instead of passing out from boredom.
And I tend to prefer if it has a female lead, I'm fed up of manly man leads that bore me to tears. They're so bland.

I prefer RPG's, puzzle games, strategy games and generally games that have gender choice - a rarity - character creation - yet another rarity - and require the player to use their brains instead of their trigger fingers. Also a rarity.

I used to enjoy shooters back in the PS2 days; you'd shoot guys because you needed to get past them in order to actually accomplish something interesting that would drive the story forward. Now it's just some pitifully short campaign, shoot everyone simply for the sake of shooting them, get to the end of the chapter for no reason other that to start the next equally meaningless chapter. And then there's online, which is just like playing the same level over and over - no story, never anything new to accomplish, no progression through anything - just build up those stat's and then buy our DLC

I'm lucky I spend half my time with racing games, as I don't think there are enough interesting non-shooters out there these days to fill my gaming hours otherwise.

I've always enjoied FPS - especially online, however recently they have all blended together - stealing features from each other, leaving nothing unique and very little fun (Call of Duty) however there are still a few creative shooters such as Bioshock still available.

i love shooters, but do not like competitive multiplayer. but even though there is loads of shooters its a total myth that there is nothing else to play.

i have always hated platformer. i never got a single once of enjoyment out of one. even mario. i just find them boring and repetitive. so during the 8/16 bit era when every other game was a platformer i felt slightly alienated but i still found lots of other games to play.

I just started playing mass effect 2 and it's like 5 times better than the first. I love it and think it will have great replay value.

I tend to play mostly RPG's, action adventures, and fighting games. I particularly love the Tales series, and Final Fantasy for RPG's.Ninja Gaiden, and the Zeldaseries for action adventure, and Soul Calibur, Tekken and Dead or Alive for fighting games.

I do enjoy some FPS's as well though, like Perfect Dark, 007, and Halo. Red Steel 2 is also very awesome, but I am hesitant to call that an FPS, since it has so much swordplay. Idon't play online oftenthough, I haven't even tried Call of Duty, since that seems to be the main apeal of that game, and the campain's don't seem very interesting. And the shooters I have now are pretty good for mutilipayer when I do want to play them, online or off.

I rule most of my squad deathmatch games in BFBC2 but of course I can have awful rounds too. But I sucked so much at that game when I first played it. Its all about the practice. Also I've learned never to switch between FPS games because you get used to the controls of another and then suck at the other one. So concentrate on one at a time

There was a point in 2006 when I could dominate a DoD: Source server with 50-70:1-2 k:d ratios every round (usually three matches before the server switches maps). I am amazing at shooters... but I dislike them because I'm getting tired of playing basically the same game I've been playing for the last decade. Very few even try to break barriers and push the genre forward (such as STALKER or Mirror's Edge being exceptions).
