future rare and/or expensive games

So recently I have noticed some ps2 and gamecube games on ebay are going for quite a nice bit of money because they were not mass produced. For example Metal Gear Solid the twin snakes in like new condition is going for $59 on ebay right now. Sonic Adventure 2 battle is going for about $35 in like new. I have been getting some games signed at anime cons and selling them for a bit more or just selling some used games that I bought at gamestop for super cheap. Anyway this seems like a nice little side business I would like to keep doing but I would like to know if there are any current gen games that you think years later are going to be selling at a high rate because of rarity? So far I have noticed Naruto Rise of a Ninja is going for a high price on ebay Some other games I get the feeling that are going to stay pricey into next gen are Bleach Soul Ressurection, ps3 version of The Orange Box, One Piece Unlimited Adventure (which is already a pretty penny), and One Piece Pirate Warriors (if it is not download only) and maybe Catherine simply because its an Atlus game and both Persona 3 and 4 are going for $30 and 40 and even Snowboard Kids 2 can be quite high.

Yeah I agree Orange Box on PS3 is becoming scarce. I have it myself I aslo have MGS TS. Metroid Prime Trilogy is another one I see keeping it's value.

I think some of the HD collections might hold their value also.

I sold Paper Mario on GameCube for something like £40 a while ago.

One thing I've noticed people doing is buying the WoW and Diablo 3 collector's editions from shops or online retailers and reselling them on eBay for much more than they bought them for. Some of them go for £190.

I also have MGS TS myself and I'm going to get it signed by Jeniffer Hale at the next sac anime and that should make it even more valuable and Metroid Prime trilogy is currently $70 at the lowest like new price on ebay. I never even considered the HD collections being rare some day but you do have a point. By next gen people might not want to have to worry about having to get their ps2 out to play some old games so by having them on ps3 they can just plug in their ps3. Also I think Xenosaga will probably be prety rare as it is a gamestop exclusive. I'm thinking Heavy Rain might be worth a few extra bills too some day.

There are also other videos of people predicting what games will go up in value in the future. There is a Kirby game on the Wii that people think will go up in value. There are alot of rare games on the DS as well.

There is a show called Game Chasers where they drive around Texas looking for rare games at flea markets, pawn shops, ect. Its kinda cool. There are also other videos of people predicting what games will go up in value in the future. There is a Kirby game on the Wii that people think will go up in value. There are alot of rare games on the DS as well.

Yeah the show is pretty cool. If gas wasnt so expensive I would consider doing it. And yeah, I had pretty much every system since the NES with a ton of games. All of them have been thrown out or sold for dirt cheap. Im so mad at myself. The only way to correct it is for me to make good money at a job and eventually buy back all my old stuff. Sux.

Actually, I only found one video. It was from a guy, who said he is starting a series on future rare games. He only has one episode right now, and it only covers one game. In the episode he covers Kirby's Adventure (Wii). I looked it up on ebay and it already sells for $70 sealed. So he's probably right about that game. I wonder if there is some kind of website that list the sales numbers for each video game. That kind of research would help in determining what might go up in value.

On another note, I wish Gamespot would start a forum for collectors. We could talk about our collections and the pursuit of games/systems for our collection. We could exchange strategies, buying and selling techniques, ect. I think it would be cool.

Don't feel to bad i remember back in 2001 pretty such giving gamestop my nes, snes and every game for it just so I could have credit for a game boy advance lol. Might as well start collecting current gen games too. There is bound to be rare games this gen too and already like I mentioned in my first post there are some.
