I have an interesting question... how much does an ending (or endings)of a game affect you?

I mean, are they important enough to laugh, cry, or get angry at, compared to the rest of the features...

Please, I would like some input on what everyone thinks about endings...

In an RPG the ending is the most satisfying part of the game. After a long hard battle with the final boss nothing beats an ending filled with fanfare music, celebrations, and the whole deal. Overall it's just a feeling of happiness and satisfaction.

The only endings I can think of that have been good enough for me to feel any kind of emotion towards are the MGS, BioShock, Max Payne and Resident Evil games. Basically, any game that has a good, well told story normally has a good pay off ending. It's just a shame that plenty of games have terrible stories.

I think the ending is quite important. Especially if the game has a great story in the rest of the game. If i play a game that has a great story that keeps me playing to the end and then the ending sucks, i get kinda disappointed.
