Heres A List Of The Top 200 featured in game informer's 200th Issue. Least To (So Called) Greatest... with my comments of it...

1 -- The Legend of Zelda [NES, 1987] "Not Satisfyed, of all games, why Legend Of Zelda? i see much bigger games within a few columns below. why not a modern gen game?"

2 -- Super Mario Bros. [NES, 1985] "It Was Just Fine. again, not a big fan on NES games at the top."

3 -- Tetris [PC, 1984] "time passer, but not very appreciated."

4 -- Grand Theft Auto III [PS2, 2001] - "i dont even like GTA." {Fact}: this is the cover i got.

5 -- Half-Life 2 [PC, 2004] "now here's a game a I DEFINETLY agree with in the top 5. great, just great." {Fact}: this is the cover i wanted.

6 -- Doom [PC, 1993] "Dwane Johnson Kicks Alien Ass... Eh."

One of the covers, this one is for FFVI, I think the top 10 all have covers.

Except for a few choices, this was not a very good list, COD4 is ranked way too high, Baldur's Gate II should be rated in the top 20. And Super Mario Bros should be #1 not the original Legend of Zelda. Ocarina should have been top 10 and so did Super Metroid (although the original is in the top 10).

I thought the list was pretty good sans Call of Duty 4 at 14. I'm sorry it just doesn't deserve that high of a spot.

Oh well, everybody has their different opinions. Let the thousands of flame-filled letters sweep their way to Game informer... and none of them will be published for any reason other than to make fun of fanboys.

The list is fine. I skimmed through the magazine. Obviously I would have different picks but what fun would a list be if it was exactly like mine.

Well, I can vouch for the 4 games I've played on that list, all 4 were great:

Call of Duty (PC version)

Eternal Darkness

Planescape Torment

Max Payne (PC version)

200 - Beyond Good And Evil - "Never Heard Of It, But The Pic Looks like.. its wierd." 199 - Tactics Ogre - "Dont Care what it is, i dont need to know." 195 - Ultima - "wth is ultima?" Eternal Darkness: Sanity Reqiuem - "No Comment" 184 - Vagrant Story

They do have a lot of bad choices, like Bioshock is around number 20 and I don't remember System Shock 2 or Deus Ex even on it, how the hell can that happen?

...That's petty much what I expect from someone with a spartan avatar.

That's a bit improper. I loved Halo: Combat Evolved. Does that somehow make me less of a gamer? My avatar is a Templar from Hellgate: London, and I have never even played the game. Judging someone based on a game they like, or their avatar, is foolish.

They definetly missed a few titles in their top 200 list. I got the Gordan Freeman cover. =-)

yup exactly, and what i think they should have done is just list these games without numbering them so then none of them would be placed over another and you wouldn't have people getting bent out of shape over the order.

The TC obviously became a gamer with the N64. He must not have much experience with anything before that because all the games prior to that generation on the list have ignorant or uninformed comments attached to them (also little to no PC gaming experience). I'm not going to defend the list itself, though I'm glad a couple gems that are typically overlooked made the list (Heroes of Might & Magic III, Arkanoid). I think they stashed a bunch of current generation games near the back of the list because they started to get lazy (I think Infamous & Crackdown are sweet games, but top 200 all time?). Oh, and GTA: Vice City should have been the top rated GTA game because it added everything III was missing (protagonist with an identity, motorcycles, and the greatest soundtrack ever to grace a video game).
