Game myths and rumors

Did anyone hear any myths from friends or anywhere else that were untrue.

I heard this one at school is obviously not true:

Running around the fountain in Boo's courtyard (Super mario 64) over 100 times without falling in and you could play as luigi.

In the original Tomb Raider... Naked Lara. never proved... but it was defo a MASSIVE rumour at the time! lol

That in super smash bros melee if you defeated 20 enemies on cruel melee you could play as sonic and tails

Some people figure that because if you beat the original metroid in a certain amount of time, you get to see Samus in a bakini at the end. The logical conclusion is that if you beat the game in an ungodly amount of time, you can see her with even less.

People who used to say that Halo was coming to PS2

In Kingdom Hearts 2. Some guy told me if you hung around the area before Ansem's labs, you could fight Kairi. What a load of crap.

I remember something about a nintendo dolphin as well.

That's not a myth, it was Sega's fault for not thinking/making it quick enough before Saturn came out...

there was only ever one reported to exist, and no one knows if it's got guts inside or not... unless you've got some other knowledge about it, like... if you have one, i'd say it's a myth. i've seen pictures of the neptune, but i've seen pictures of bigfoot too.sofaking_bob

No the Neptune is not a myth, it was a scrapped console from sega. A few prototypes exsist but you can make one for yourself as shown in several videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSTCHG_XFco. Really though saying the Neptune is a myth is like saying the Atari 2700 (Look it up if you don'tknow whatit is)is a myth, it was just never released
