Ok, which system has the better intro sound? Dreamcast by far! That ends it...

Intro sounds don't matter as all bow before PSX. Sometimes I think it is the 2D fighters of the DC that edge it out.

Yeah, I was being a little sarcastic. I think my favorite boot up sound is the Saturn's though. I did like the fact that you can hold down the Z button on the cube's controller while booting up, to get that different boot up sound. Reminds me of the Sega Master System, where you hold left on the direction pad at boot, which will unlock that snail maze game! Well, they don't do stuff like that anymore, well at least not for free anyways. lol

The Dreamcast was an 128-bit Console which used a modified CD-Rom disc for games. Microsoft also helped Sega with the first on-line gaming componet Which was way better than Nintendo's Gamecube on-line. The Gamecube was also a 128-bit console which has Mini DVD Rom disc for games.

The Gamecube Discs could hold only 1.4GB of game content Compared to 700MB for a Dreamcast Disc. So the difference wasn't that great.

Sales wise the Nintendo Gamecube only managed 21.74 million consoles sold from 2001-2007 The Sega Dreamcast managed almost half of that in only 18 Months of sales 11.3 million Dreamcasts sold. Plus the Sega Dreamcast managed to obtain cult status despite dying out in the early going of the 6th generation of consoles.

If Sega had only managed to hang in there during the 6th generation the Dreamcast may have eventually outsold the Gamecube.

But in the end Sega died out as a videogame console manufacturer and Nintendo is still going strong. So the Nintendo gamecube just barely outdoes the Dreamcast.

Dreamcast On-line is better.

Games are a tie. There just as many memorable Dreamcast games as Gamecube games.

Dreamcast had The UVM "second screen" which is an inspiration for the Wii U Gamepad? Dreamcast wins here.

The Gamecube even though was Nintendo's worst selling home console beat the Sega Dreamcast. Nintendo did managed to outlast archrival Sega.

Dreamcast console has managed to obtain a cult status and live on to some degree. Nintendo Gamecube hasn't obtained cult status.

So Gamecube wins over Sega Dreamcast by default due to Nintendo still in the console biz. While Sega has been reduced to a lowly 3rd party publisher that is fading fast in 2012.
