Which was better? Personally, I like the GC.

I voted Xbox. The first system of the big three to have a hardrive, and a lot cleaner graphics than the GC. In most cases when you compare the same game's GC score with it's Xbox score on GameSpot, the Xbox score is higher.
for me theonly gamecube games i found enjoyable were ssbm and fire emblem.where xbox had halo 1 and 2 ,kotor 1and 2,jade empire, phsyconauts ,both starwars battlefronts and countless others along with the ability to play online with friends something nintendo still cant do well.
Mario Kart DD, Super Mario Sunshine, Tales of symphonia, Viewtiful Joe, Zelda WW, RE:make, RE0, RE 4( regarded by almost every one as the best and best lookinggame of last gen), not to mention skies of Arcadia, MGS TS, Smash Bros, Metroid prime, and loads more QUALITY titles. not just first person shooters and bioware games.
Soul Calibur had LINK FFS... lol.
And the GC produced far prettier graphics and sounds than most of everthing i've seen on Xbox and I own both systems. Aside from Otogi and Gun valkyrie, most xbox games were pretty mundane looking.
GC is the winner for me.
I'm going to say Gamecube as well. While the XBOX had graphically great exclusives (that looked better than Gamecube's exclusives), such as DOAU and Halo. Gamecube runs better when it comes to multiplats like Sonic Heroes and I'm talking Frames per second on fast games.

No, the Gamecube did not run multiplats better
The XBOX wins this one easily
It's original games were much better then anything Nintendo had last gen with the exception of Wind Waker and Paper Mario and when it comes to multiplats they were the best version for all of the for the entire generation.
Microsoft beating Nintendo was one of the biggest victories in the history of gaming.
Lack of online for Gamecube and good RPG's probably makes XBOX the winner for me. Of course this is coming from someone who doesnt really have friends to sit down and play games like SSB with so online is an important component for me. Although I loved Resident Evil 4, Zelda:Wind Waker/Twilight Princess, and the metroids probably more then any XBOX game on the first play through.
Gamecube, reasons:
The legend of zelda the wind waker, super mario sunshine, luigi's mansion, smash bros melee, tales of symphonia, baten kaitos, viewtiful joe, starfox, final fantasy crystal chronicles, resident evil 4, paper mario, sonic adventure 2 and many others.
I voted for the GC. The Xbox was a great console but the GC exclusives stood out more for methen the Xbox exclusives (in which they did share some with the PC). Metroid Prime is also my favorite game last gen.
I will say that for the Xbox, the multiplats were better except the PC versions. Halo: CE at the time was what I was playing a lot before I got a GC.

On multiplats like Sonic Heroes? You know, those that lag when too fast, or too much on what's going on? By looks, XBOX is better, but on what's going on. That goes to the Gamecube, fast games run fast without lagXbox was way ahead of its time. Its only problem was a terrible first gen controller (the second one is probably my favorite controller ever), it was big, heavy, and ugly, and lackedsupport from some 3rd party publishers, those Microsoft didn't buy out. But it had superior graphics, a great controller (with a safety cord, and not to mention 4 slots which the Ps2 didn't have), a hard drive (great for putting your own music in and playing it during a sports game), a live service, good first party publishers, and superior sound with dolby digital. GC had some memorable titels, but the console itself is nothing great and the great games are mostly from its earlier period.
where's ps2?cluclapThis is a comperison between Xbox and GC. PS2 was the monster of the generation and an obvious stand out.
I agree, that Gamecube has just better exclusive games, even thought it is made for kids and tend to be very easy, I still enjoyed it :)Gamecube, reasons:

XBOX was a better console over all it had the best graphics of that time but it was released really late and was the first time Microsoft step foot into the gaming genre
i vote xbox cos it better and has better grafx i mean look at halo 2 and then look at the wind waker i meen its got kiddy grafx when halo 2 looks real good i think we can see wot system is bettamastacheef789That had to be the worst comparison ever. Even if what you wrote made sense, good graphics do not make a game enjoyable. Look at Crysis.

BURN!!! lol
If he'd compared Halo 2 and say Metroid 2... then we could have an argument. kiddie graphics indeed?
Xbox had better hardware and graphics. It required no memory cards; and was better than the Gamecube in just about every category possible.
Therefore; my favorite would obviously be the Gamecube.
The Xbox had few games that appealed to me; Hitman, Halo, and Fatal Frame 2: Director's cut. The Gamecube on the other hand; had TONS of games that appealed to everything I want in a game:
By personal choice; GC wins it.

Are you kidding me? Microsoft's victory was NOTHING compared to the astounding beating it and the GameCube received thanks to the PS2.
I personally have to say that the Gamecube was my favorite, but the Xbox had its strengths.
I thoght both systems were very well done. Gamecube was fun to play with my younger siblings while the X-box was more fun to play with my friends.
I dont like GC for the same reason I dont like nintendo. It aimed towards kids mostlyjensen_slipknot
it's ironic to see a slipknot fan saying he hates things aimed at kids. Joke
Kids are dumb they don't like kiddy games they only want blood, gritty graphics and shooting stuff in games, so i don't see how nintendo is aimed mostly towards kids.
Oh and again that thing about slipknot and kids is not an insult it's a joke
Gamecube, more uniquely designed games, lush and colorful graphics and some of my most favorite games of last generation.
