games that are good from the get go.

has anyone played any games that from the first minute in your hooked and its already awesome, i have played a few of these and i think the best so far is dead space, call of duty 4, and on pc dragon age origins was quite good at the beggining. games that rather sucked at this were especially red dead redemption, lots of farming ruined this begginning but i know its to get you ready for the game, mount and blade kinda sticks you in the middle of nowhere on your own and its hard to know where to start, and i think final fantasy 7, you really have to get past the annoying beggining, oh and oblivion and star wars kotor has a very unengaging begginning, there begginings area ll amde as tutorials but they really dont make you want to play on sometimes.

Uncharted 2's opening made me want to know what the heck was going on.

The part with the train hanging off a cliff helped too.

Fallout 3 for sure.

Dragon Age also.

Also, Dragon Quest IX.

(Most games hook me from the beggining, these were just a few that I found myself overwhelmingly enthralled with.

I actually like games with slower beginnings, they seem to immerse me more.

I thought Enslaved and Bioshock had a great beginnings. Enslaved intrigued me with it's first few scenes while Bioshock completely creeped me out in the first 10 minutes.

Mass Effect 2, Fable II (granted, it's a couple of years old), Red Dead Redemption, Mercenaries 2 (again, not 100% new).

There are some games that you don't even have to touch, but can alraedy tell it's a great game from the get go.

One of them is Borderlands. I'm so glad I picked that up last year. It's one of the best FPS I've gone through and it's better when you play with friends!

Agree with this. I soon as I saw John Marston step off that boat in the opening scene I was hooked.
