I guess games like The Sims teach you about social interaction if you need help in that area.

Games and movies teach you nothing about real life because they want to be as far away from real life as possible.

The only "educational" games I've played are the Age of Empires/Mythology games (even though they're not meant as such)... games like MGS can give you moral lessons of sorts though.

When I was younger playing lots of RPGs really helped to build my vocabulary and reading skills. Racing sims taught me to brake before the turn, not while you are going through it :P

Some MMORPGs can work as miniature societies, with some useful lessons to be learned. Games can also teach you to face adversity. And that's it, I suppose.

Ace Combat 04 taught me about Fighter Jet names and how to distinguish them from other fighter planes, which triggered my facination with them. It also taught me Air Force lingo("Fox 2" "12'o'Clock" "6'o'Clock" etc, etc). Metal Gear Solid 2 taught me about firearms in the same way. How to distiguish them, for example, what makes a AK-47 different from an M-4, and so on. Other than that, thats about it. I was quite young when theses games came out(11 years old), and I was going to learn about these things anyway later on when I started reading about War and Military History in my home-middle-school ciricullum(most things wasn't required to learn, or tested/graded on, but it always pays to know more than your supposed to).

10 Things that Fahrenheit(Indigo Prophecy) taught me:

1. Mixing alcohol with medicine = VERY BAD!

2. That a black man and a white woman can have a relationship. Mostly involving sex.

3. People get depressed and anxious very easily! Do not pick up the pictures of your loved ones, seriously, like "-15" for your mood :(.

4. How to clean up after a crime scene.

5. Crows are f'n creepy and will peck your head to death (they did that to me in real-life :().

6. If possessed, it can turn you into Neo and can jump up to a helicoper and dodge traffic.

7. You need to drink a lot of water.

8. Be aware of your responses to people in a conversation, or they'll get angry and you lose points.

9. Theory of a Dead Man is a Nickelback clone.

10.Trying to identify people with the face builder is very hard:

Deus Ex taught me a lot about society and philosophy. And that there are lots of conspiracies about companies. And that the leaders of completely opposite organisations are probably having sex together :P.
