I finally got a call from Gamestop for an interview for Wednesday after a few years of applying. I was wondering if there's any tips or a heads up on how the interview process for the chain is like. Should I show that I'm a hardcore gamer or is that gonna be a little much and make me look like I'm so much of a geek that I wouldn't like the job, and rather play games? Thanks.
Well one of the most important things that you'll need to let them know about are your customer service skills, working with others, being able to handle money, and working a cash register. Of course expressing your knowledge of games will also be a good thing.
You don't have to know a lick about gaming, all they want to know is that you can say "Would you like to pre-order?".
In fact, say nothing else but the words "Would you like to pre-order?" during the interview. Answer every question with those words, and instead of saying hello and shaking the interviewer's hand, just stare blankly at him and say "Would you like to pre-order?".
That's the secret. Keep saying that and eventually the interviewer smiles and says, "I think your'e going to do great here at Gamestop corporation".
