gaming horror stories?

granted, i couldnt think of a title that conveyed my rage, so i went the horror route.

i was playing hitman5 and the game freezes (f**k you microsoft) so i have no choice but to turn it off.

long story short, my save was erased and all my story progress was erased with it, as well as my challenges. i already had grandmaster (get 100 challenges) but i want to get all the challenges cause i loved the game; replaying all the levels again on hard just to get back to were i was has filled me with much rage, but i think the challenge related glitches (i thought "id just do the challenges i didnt get, who cares") i encountered tipped me over the edge. like subtle injection constently restarting.

i love the game, but fate is conspiring to piss me off :evil:

has any event made you hate a game you otherwise think youd enjoy, or just have any gaming rage stories (makes for a bad title, hence why i didnt use it)?

honorable mention: i love defense grid; but its constent freezing made the game almost unplayable. still (eventually) got gold on every map, mission, and DLC :cool:

I've thankfully never had a game freeze wipe out more than a half hour of my progress. If I did that developer would be permanently blacklisted by me, that's for sure.

Two horror stories actually.

1. Game-breaking bug in Rage - i was almost half-way through the game and there is an area where the exit door was glitched. All my previous saves (about 6 of them actually) were from inside that area so i was completely screwed.

2. Fallout New Vegas at launch with the infamous corrupted save files bug...

Back in the day when I played Soul Calibur 3.........Chronicles of the Sword corrupt data glitch........

Skyrim in genral

Never lost any save data, but have had several freezes and glitches from games. First to come to mind,

• Uncharted 3. I had 5 cut scenes freeze up and required a reboot of the console. I had to watch the scenes on youtube.
• GTA SA. I fell into limbo while jumping a fence. Carl was just falling in a grey world with the sky being SA.

Playing Final Fantasy 7 when it first came out...78 hours in, last disc...Sephiroth kicking my a$$. Stop playing, go to bed. Next morning I turn on my PS and memory card corrupted.

Never played it again up until a couple years ago when it was released on PSN...started playing, about 24 hours in, my save somehow just vanished so I had to restart...Third times a charm right?...NO. About 20ish hours in my PS3 was on it side...fell over corrupting my harddrive, I was also toward the end of FF13...When the game finally starts opening up (can not remember which chapter). Still to this day I have never completed a FF game...

I played Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer.

Tomb Raider 2, got far in the game, then when I was about to die underwater (out of breath) I somehow accidentally saved the game instead of loading it. Every time I'd load it I would die instantly. Ever since I started using a minimum of 3 save files per game which I cycle through with saving.

I don't really have any. My friend however, does. He played condemned 2 and every time he turned his system off all of his data would be wiped. He'd still have his achievements but no levels unlocked or anything.

Gran Turismo 5

I had an audio glitch about 35 hours in. This caused all engine sounds from here on out to sound like pure static coming through my speakers. This bug eventually caused all in game sound to dissapear after a few hours and then even the music. I ended up messing around with all the settings, cache, Install and update files and eveything. The only way to fix this was by deleting all my hard work. So I did... been too bitter, and worried that it might happen again to play anymore of it.
