Yeah, I'm using tabloid-headline-rhetoric. :P Sorry about that.... that was not my finest moment. Essentially there were 5 of us on the team, so 20% means one person. It was one of the last ones I expected to see get fired though, so that in itself is unnerving... non of us saw this coming. I am pretty sure I'm safe, mainly because I am better at my job than at least two of the other three, and when all is said and done, that's what counts. My job isn't in danger, I am sure of that, but I'm not so sure about certain others... I have a one-on-one with my manager tomorrow, and knowing how he works, he'll let me know where things stand when we're behind closed doors. Also, I have Secret of Monkey Island, Special Edition. That automatically makes everything better. :)ChiliDragonNice. My laptop is dying and I can't really run anything other than Google Chrome and iTunes. I have Minecraft but I can't play it. I don't know why, but it can't run anything RAM intensive even though it is showing that I've got 3GBs of RAM. I can't even run scans to try and find any malware. I'm a little bummed.
Just watched "A Prophet"...really is a fascinating movie. The fact that it is entirely in subtitles hardly hinders it from becoming a fully engrossing film. The only downside I experienced was the occasional choppiness of the picture, which I blame 100% on Zune and their poor video streaming capabilities. I already want to watch it again, but alas I only have it via Zune for 24 hrs so the prospects of that happening are unlikely.

Wow...that is annoying...it sounds like it has to be spyware or malware, but if you can't run scans how will you know...hmmm hope you get it sorted out.

If you're in Vista or Win7, go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Windows Memory Diagnostic, and follow the prompts on the screen to reboot into a memory test tool. If you have any reasonably well known brand of memory at all it comes with a lifetime warranty, and if it's something wrong with it you can get it replaced by the manufacturer. In XP, go to memtest.org and download the pre-complied bootable iso. Use something like ImgBurn to burn it as a bootable image, reboot from the CD and run the memory diagnostic that way.
Hello everyone! I ventured out from the Laid Back Lounge in the PS3 forums to find a new place to meet new people and spend a little time away from there.
Hi and welcome! :) @rragnaar Might want to consider some registry cleaning and temp file deletion, just to rule them out. Ccleaner is good for both. As long as you let it make back-ups when it wants to, it's a perfectly safe app. :)Hello everyone! I ventured out from the Laid Back Lounge in the PS3 forums to find a new place to meet new people and spend a little time away from there.

Thanks. :D Is this place active cuz it doesn't seem like it to me as I'm used to seeing hundreds of post each day in the LBL.

I posted a little on the LBL to try and get a feel for whether or not you guys wanted a mod presence on the PS3 board... and then I came back here.:P Good luck with your move. Moving might be my least favorite thing.[QUOTE="ExoticAnimal"][QUOTE="rragnaar"] Nah... we're even more laid back. So laid back that we barely even post.:P

I am friends with most of the people in the lounge but the people in there just take it to far blaming mods for all their moderations and bannings so I try to stay clear of their rants when they do happen.

I actually have this as my signature in another forum I go to:The pen is only mightier than the sword if the pen is very large and very heavy, or the sword is one of those pathetically flimsy plastic ones that you can find in toy stores. In any other situation, sword > pen.

Thanks again! I'm defragging right now!
My new base of operations in Minecraft is high enough to be in the clouds. So cool.
[QUOTE="GodModeEnabled"][QUOTE="Daavpuke"]Sleep fail day 7.DaavpukeLike some many other of lifes problems, beer solves this. Day 8 by now Red Bull will solve your problem if that beer didn't work.
Ah... payday is here. Life is good. I've been so broke all month. I've barely left the house except to go to work because I couldn't really afford to go do anything with friends. I am going to buy beer, food, a mouse for my lappy, a coffee table to put it on and possibly another Move controller.
[QUOTE="Daavpuke"]I just got 5 new games.rragnaarDetails now! What'd you get? A bunch of really prime titles all at once: - Illusion Of Time/Gaia (SNES) - Civilization Revolution DS - Apollo Justice DS - Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS and last but not least, one I had been scoping for a while (together with CIV): Mario Kart DS I have too many games :(.

I am trying very, very hard to resist the new interface at GOG.com. They added Baldur's Gate! And there is Duke Nukem, and Space Quest 4, 5, 6, and they're promising more Hasbro games to come! :)

Bought them all for about 10 bucks back in the day, so the digital version doesn't look all that appealing to me :D.
Dead Rising 2 justt got posted! And I pre ordered Enslaved and Castlevania.
Why do I buy more games when I still have dozens left to play? Why????

As I said in the PC forum yesterday, I have my original copy as well, but I also have 64-bit Windows 7. While I will not buy BG right now, I will probably grab it the moment it goes on sale, just for the OS compatibility GOG.com promises. Why spend hours and hours of patching, modding and tweaking to get it to run right, when a handful of change gets the same result? :D
