Did anyone else find the ending a bit dissappointing? I know I was and a bit sad when it was over too, it was so much fun. Any other games similar to either of the GoW games? My wife and I love both of them and want to find similar games for the PS2, Xbox or GC.
Well the games that usually get grouped together with God of War are the Ninja Gaiden series, the Prince of Persia series and the Devil May Cry series. While they are all fast action games, I prefer God of War just because of the level of the production values that really make the whole experience feel more epic (granted I have only played the first game in each of the 3 series' I mentioned, so I can't really say if the stories get better). In my opinion, DMC is the closest because it's over the top, violent, and constant action just like god of war. Prince of Persia is more about the platforming and Ninja Gaiden is basically an awesome combat experience stuffed in the shell of a story, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They're all great games though.
I'd put the entire Prince of Persia series before both God of War titles. If you've never played them before, I recommend buying Sands of Time and giving it a go. Great puzzles, great gameplay, slick controls.
The god of war series is the best series on the playstation next to metal gear in my opinion. If you want some good action games then i would get ninja gaiden and the devil may cry series.
The ending to GOW2 didn't really disappoint me it just left me wanting more. The game was fantastic from start to finsih and I really didn't want it to end. The game really gets addictive and the pacing is spot on, the story also kept me interested. Sure it finished with a "to be continued" but GOW3 should be out soon. If you want action games like GOW series then I suggest you check out Devil May Cry 1 or 3 and Onimusha series. Both are fantastic action franchises and well worth the money.
