God of War vs Devil May Cry

What is better?

I've only played through DMC4 and it was good. Still must play my copy of God of War 2 and the DMC collection thingy.

I think I'm going to enjoy GoW more though because I prefer the simple fighting from what I've played.

DMC has better fighting no contest. GOW is more polished overall though.

i like DMC better

god of war. everything is better except the combat but its not far behind dmc.

thats not to say i dislike the dmc series. 3 and 4 are both great and the boss fights are some of the best in any series

God of War is an epic adventure but in gameplay DMC beats it easily.

i enjoyed both but even GoW is better overall i had more fun with DMC ( especially 3 )

God Of War 1 & 2 are the best games I've played on the Playstation 2...

Now I hear multiple people saying they like Devil May Cry better!?!

I'll definitely have to play these games for myself.

i've completed (unlocked everything) both god of wars, i own dmc1 and would like to complete it also, but i haven't played past the second mission... not because i don't want to, but because it's just... well i don't enjoy playing it very much.

so, my vote: god of war

God of War, hands down.

DMC is good too, it's just that God of War is better.

I really enjoyed going through God of War 1 & 2. I've only played through DMC 3 & 4, and if DMC 4 was as good as 3 I would've chose the DMC series. However, since DMC 4 wasn't as good as 3 I'm going to have to say GoW is the better series.

I love them both. Playing God of War II and DMC4 right now as a matter of fact.

Well, that's a tough question.

I am a big DMC fan, but I also played through a piece of GoW II and it just comes down to what YOU like.

DMC got way better combat and a totally over the top atmosphere, puzzles are just plain simple, just to get some variety.

GoW II got way better puzzles. Idk about the story though. Havent played enough GoW for that.

I prefer DMC to GoW, but just becuz I like the atmosphere, maybe rent them both before you buy them?

Gotta say, both series are fantastic action games... but, DMC tips it for me... just because the combat is so deep and varied. GoW is Epic. but, DMC is more so. the combat in GoW lacks the depth and versatility of DMC. and while I haven't really cared for the stories in DMC since 3, they're still entertaining. GoW's stories and mythology are fantastic.

and Dante would have some trouble with Kratos... lol. but, he'd win in the end... be something to watch though... :P

God of War is a little better, but not by much. i've only played DMC4 and its tough, but fun. I own the first GoW, and my roommate has the 2nd one, but the 2 games are just so different.
