Hmmmm. I see what you mean. Well, lets just wait and see how it turns out. I can tell you one thing though. I was never worried about the art style and I never will be, with this game at least.

And people love Sly Cooper because it is a good and fun game. If the art style was different, do you honestly think those people wouldn't love it anymore?

In my opinion, art style is important, but not important enough to base a games quality on.

Meta-Gnostic

But it hasn't been announced yet, and who would that game please? Only the fans.

Part of the charm is the art style. The use of cel shading gave it a film noir feel that complemented the thieving greatly.

Yes, I agree, gameplay is the top priority, but art style can make an otherwise great game complete crap. Example: Metal Gear Solid. OK, not complete crap, but the game could've been a bit better. Why? The art style sucks. Everything is grey. The walls are grey, the characters are grey (they probably captured Meryl because her hair had some color), there's a character named Grey (Fox), the main machine is grey, IT IS ALL SO GREY!!! Greyer than North Korea.

There's nothing wrong with grey! Would you have preferred a pastel colored MGS?

Yes, there's something wrong with grey. I'll quote Lewis Black (non-verbatim) when he said something about New England winters and their grey levels: "Hey, maybe I should slit my wrists so I can see color!" And I would've preferred a bit more than grey. Hell, one of the reasons the Psycho Mantis battle rocked was because there was more color than grey. You had brown, green and a few other colors.

I thought the greyness made the game better than if it was full of color. It created a certain atmosphere that color would've disrupted.

Metal Gear Solid is not a survival horror, even if it does share certain elements with the genre. I don't think anybody would mind if FOXHOUND bought some paint and renovated Shadow Moses.

REmake. It's like the perfect survival horror game, and still hold some of the most impressive visuals ever seen on consoles.

Also, Metroid Zero Mission! It improved the game by like 105%, and they even included the original Metroid as an added bonus. Plus playing as Zero-Suit Samus was just too much fun!

Since when does grey = survival horror? I would think military & Alaska = grey a helluva lot more than survival horror.

Survival horror games aren't known for being vibrant. Their environments are dismal, creepy, scary. Grey fits that quite well. Metal Gear Solid does not need to be scary. And if MGS3 could have color, why not the original? Was there some huge military fashion change in between the 1960's and 2005?

I'd have to go with Resident Evil Remake for the GC, like everyone mentioned. The graphical update was great, and just a creepier and more atmospheric game.

Not quite a remake, but going through Shadow Moses in MGS4 was quite amazing.

MGS3 did not take place in Alaska, it took place in the jungle.

Is Alaska depressingly gray? And besides, Russia is known for dictatorship-killing winters, yet MGS3 had more than gray. It had green, brown, bluish-grey, and a bunch of other colors.

There was something absolutely genius about using Alaska as a setting for MGS.

What, the fact that you could ignorantly make a Sarah Palin joke relating to Metal Gear Solid, even though she took office at least a year later :P?

Alaska full of snow, nuclear weapons disposal facility versus jungle.
