As the title says. Mass Effect: Andromeda comes to mind. Love the gameplay but hated the weak story and missing lots of Aliens from the previous series.

Batman: Arkham Knight, the over-usage Batmobile made me hated the game, but not the gameplay to say the least.

Robotech Battlecry, it was fun but it's just not the same as a real Macross would be.

Anything comes to mind Gamers?

Metal Gear Solid V:Phantom Pain.

I loved the stealth side of the gameplay, but I hated the open world design and combat against regular soldiers.(Which was like a simple cover shooter)

Hotline Miami. I found it to be really frustrating, but the amazing soundtrack and instant reloads upon dying made me keep playing it. And it was pretty fun once I got better.

Also, Deadly Premonition. Most of its game mechanics are really bad, but everything about it is just so fucking weird that it was actually kinda good.

The Witcher...definitely the f*cking Witcher. The most frustrating mess ever. Everybody raved on it and I just absolutely hated the gameplay but was curious about the story. 6 times I tried to get into it, 6 tries I got so frustrated with the clunky mechanics that I rage-uninstalled it. Witcher 2 came out, gave it a try, liked the gameplay a lot better, kept getting nagging throwbacks at Witcher 1's story that I couldn't follow so once again, I installed Witcher 1, downloaded a trainer, turned 1-hit kill on and got through the annoying combat and gameplay as soon as possible and focused on the story. By the time I got back to Witcher 2 I had a great time and by the time Witcher 3 came out I was in love with the series.

@davillain-: Probably racing games as a genre, I suffer from very sensitive motion sickness and many racing games make me feel unwell, I've even had the same issue with other games like Gravity Daze series which I also can't play much without feeling unwell.

However I realise this is more a bad game but play it anyway thread. . So I dunno, going to try and name some recent stuff because mentioning really old retro games like Splatterhouse isn't exactly dumbfounded.

So most my Early Access games. . I played the SCORN-Alpha which it's potentially the best looking game I've ever played and really like the puzzles, even though the level design is pretty trash and shooting is hit-and-miss. Doesn't control all that great, so far it's seemingly to be the modern day D00MIII. Which as we all know is easily the worst in the D00M series, but was bragging rights for P.C. Gamers for how good it looked_

Have a similar opinion with The Vagrant, a small teams clear attempt at making a Vanillaware game. Because games like Dragon's Crown will never hit P.C. officially. It's very beautiful on the eyes, but as a Beat em' Up is really underwhelming. I still play it anyway because of the levelling system and boss fights are on point, I see potential in this project.

Lastly is Quake: Champions, which despite the last two I think it plays really well. . However the lag can be awful when it wants to be. I don't know much on the Meta but read that's a big deal for this game, as well the wait for a classic mode so all avatars are equal in terms of stats and gameplay can focus entirely on skill. Not that you can, with the lag present at least 70% the time_

So, what I'm getting at, is most the games listed, despite not being all that great, so happen to be on the P.C. platform exclusively. Take that as you will, I'm gunning for The Vagrant being a special game when finished regardless.

Yet, honestly have no hope for Quake: Champions and SCORN. I think the developers of both have certain goals in mind, the new Quake is designed to be a micro-transaction cash-grab going for that Counter Strike skin buying audience. Likely a sly way of funding a Rage 2 or something else for id Software.

And SCORN is so the Master Race can brag about a technical marvel over console Gamers. . Which in honesty would be lucky if a PS5 or XB2 could run it as good as a decent P.C. And will be little more than that, which is a shame because I want it to be more about the puzzles, level design, and tension.

For Honor.
Love the prospect of it and what they were trying to achieve, hate the instability of Per-to per servers, grind to little rewards such as cosmetic unlocks, awful matchmaking and ability to spam unblockable attacks.

The Last Guardian is the one for me. It is so flawed game. Terrible save system, some of the pazzles, and the random personallity of Treeco is annoying (when you know how to solve the pazzle, but he won't help you). Yet, on the same time, his random personallity is what makes the game special. The relationship with the boy and Treeco is cute.

Totally agree with Cuphead. Love the art style tribute to the old school cartoons but the difficulty made me hated the game.

@RSM-HQ I see why playing any racing games would give you motion sickness, your speeding so fast and for me, when I'm driving in real life, going too fast can make my body feel uneasy so yeah. I also find playing racing games can bored me but not Mario Kart however.

@davillain-: Wipeout and Mario Kart are very fun but can never do more than a couple of laps, I take the train every day and that I can manage because I'm not exactly looking out the window and has a feel of stability. Seeing the velocity in some of these games is too much for me.

Have a similar issue with older games and up close blurry textures, however many of those that I check out doesn't happen as frequently as fast paced racing games, which I respect but can't physically handle after so long. It's also why VR is a simple "no" for me.

Probably been repeating myself as usual, but Final Fantasy XV.

Playing this game for the first time was a joyful experience, however, I felt a little robbed. I blame the storyline. Whilst the story was interesting, there were loopholes that was left out from the disc.

Certain fighting games come to mind.

If some [many] of the moves and combos weren't EXTREMELY difficult or IMPOSSIBLE to pull off then the games would be a whole lot more fun.

hahaha this topic whoever created it is genius!

almost all gamers have this kind of game and for me its "Return of Warrior" yes and for more information this is an MMORPG, i really like it because it has a class job "Enchanter" which is something i really like after watching Log Horizon <3, but not just that i also like how it is semi-realistic starting from its non-targeting combat system to the day/night system though not accurate i like its sunset by the beach. I really like the game as it let you feel that youre adventuring out of your safe zone.

but there's just one thing, i hate the game cause of the monsters who kills you when youre swimming on the body of water? wtf you just leave your character for a not more than a minute just to get some foods/drinks and then back to the game youre already dead, but not just that in the camps inside the forest, there is camp where npcs can be found never leave your character even at the center of that safe looking camp, cause monsters can kill you if youre not looking :(

all in all its just the safety when you go away for a minute that i dont like

Need For Speed (2015) - loved the drift mechanics, graphics (the rain and streetlight glow are so good), and simple tuning options but the online-only and cutscenes make me also hate booting it up.

Resident Evil 6 - Shooting and control actually felt like a big improvement over parts 4 and 5 (especially taking apart zombies with Leon's dual handguns) but this horse is thoroughly beaten.

TOCA 2: Touring Cars (PS1) - awesome vehicle and crash physics but boring as hell gameplay. My brothers and I would just race backwards and have demolition derbies because the crashes were so fun.

Majora's Mask - Only Zelda game I haven't beaten. Absolutely wonderful and bizarre but the 3 day cycle was too tense for me. Couldn't adapt because I was still so in love with Ocarina's style and pace.

I really like this game and still play it from time to time, but yeah everything you just said is true. Spamming I never have had much trouble with, but the stability (lack of) is just plain unforgivable for a fighting game like this.

@davillain-: Uncharted Lost Legacy, loved the exploration and the graphics, hated the fighting sections, the enemies would just charge you and you would always get riddled by bullets and if you took cover behind the china porcelain cover it would be dissolved in minutes by enemies and you never had enough ammo to kill all the bullet sponge enemies.

@davillain-: The Division, but my beef is pretty much the common issue with the game.....the freakin human bullet sponge!!! I LOVE the atmosphere of the game, the weapons and overall game mechanics are decent, but when I gotta unload 2 clips from an assault rifle into an enemy and all they do is limp, that's a problem. But if you treat The Division like an RPG instead of a tactical shooter, it will slowly but surely begin to grow on you.

I wasn't that impressed with the single-player campaigns of both Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4. But, I happily wasted thousands of hours on the Reset Outpost mode of both games.

That washed out look (along with green tint) was pretty common with other games from the same time period.

Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, STALKER all had it. They also had the persistent radiation sickness (malaria equivalent).

Another one I can add to Far Cry 2 is the silly mounds the character cannot go over, forcing the player to circle around. The developers can at least make then look like sheer cliffs that cannot be traversed.

Oh. Foot travel in Far Cry 2 also sucks.
