A DS or a Wii might work, but if you're talkin major consoles like PS3 and 360, then no.

Sorry about your arm (if this is for real and not a hoax.)

Yeah, stylus based DS games are your best bet. Try Elite Beat Agents!

I would think that even some turn based RPGs might work well too. A game like FFX never makes you use the face buttons at the same time as the thumbstick. This might seem a little silly, but certain characters in fighting games can be played one handed too. I used to piss my friends off by beating them one handed in Tekken with Lei Wulong and Ling Xiaoyu. I'll dig around here on the internet, because I think that there are some custom controllers that you can buy that are meant specifically for one handed players.

Here is a pretty cool one handed controller. I'm still searching around, because I know there is a great resource dedicated to disabled gamers somewhere on the internet.

Okay, I found what I was looking for. OneSwitch is a pretty good resource. They have a lot of articles related to one handed gaming, and I found this page in particular to be interesting. It lists several one handed controllers available for different systems.

The games mentioned above.

There also cool games on the PC:
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Desktop Tower Defence

Strategy and Adventure games on the PC normally only require the use of the mouse, just search for games on those genres.

There are some amazing set ups you can get with PC gaming that would allow to playa lot of games on thePC.

I dont know much about it but I recall when they made the big changes to SWG something they changed made it imposable for some handicap people to continue to play and the community was seriously pissed about it. People who had been playing since the launch of the game were now out in the cold.

I am talking about people who are paralyzed from the neck down and so on and so forth. I wish I could be of some actual help and not just get your hopes up but I am sure you can get a few creative set ups for PC gaming that would make the loss of your arm a non factor when it comes to playing games.

If I get some free time tonight (I doubt I will) I will try and dig up some links and such and give you some advice you can really hang your hat on.

There are plenty of games.

The Witcher on PC is a really great game, and it has a control setting that lets you move around using the mouse. This is assuming you'd be willing to swing your arm over and hit some keys, but you never need a lot of both to complete the game, it lasts quite long too.

The DS has tons, just as others have mentioned.

Final Fantasy Tactics, Pacman, many lightgun shooting games, most likely Ninja Gaiden DS, most RPGs (especially older ones), almost all TBS games (advance wars).

RTS games don't need a keyboard! You can use the mouse.(well, there's the shift key for clicking multiple units, but hey, I'm sure you'll figure something out.)

I'm curious...what's your job? There's lots of jobs where a machine can lop your arm off, so I'm not gonna guess.

I feel sorry for you, I hope you will get use to it and all the best. I can recommend that Nintendo Wii.. like Wii Sports and some games on wii you can choose to either use Numchuck and Wii Remote or just the wii remote..(so basically one hand or two hand which is pretty handy) Also try games like Warcraft III, Red Alerts and all those pc strategy games. Hope this helped!

Not much in terms of console games, I'm afraid, but there's plenty of mouse-only pc games, like strategy games, point and click adventures, football manager sims and more.

Maybe puzzle games like Super Text Twist, and Boggle for PC (simple clicks and drags using the mouse).

Or Wild Gunman, Duck Hunt, and Hogan's Alley for NES (using a gun controller to shoot).

Or Dancing Stage, and Dance Dance Revolution series for the PS1 (if you want to use your feet on a controller mat).
