I've found as time goes by, I have less and less time to devote to gaming, but it just means I go along at a more leisurely pace. I don't try to blaze through games that way I did back in college when I had much more time on my hands. Also, the days of me buying games at release are long gone. My wife bought me a 360 for our anniversary, but I still have at least a year's worth of PS2 & XBox games I haven't touched. I know I'll get to them eventually, so I just play when I have the time. My wife goes to bed a couple hours ahead of me most days, so that's generally my Geek Time (Gaming, Gamespot, Fantasy Football, etc...)

It's kind of a drag that each year there are more great games released than ever before, and at the same time I have less time to play them, but one thing about Video Games becoming a mass-market hobby is that I don't need to worry anymore about whether I'll be able to find something if I don't get it right away. If I decide not to play GTA IV until 2011, it will still be at any GameStop whenever I want it.

You can hear a lot of talk on the web about "Hardcore" and "Casual" gamers like they're two different species, and while many Hardcore's can keep the flame burning, I think the truth is that a vast number of Casual Gamers are just Hardcores with less time than they used to have.
