Well the title is pretty clear:

How the hell do you get past alien isolation without dying from a heart attack?

I really liked the original Alien film and it didn't scare me (probably because I knew what was coming) and now I want to play Alien isolation but I'm scared it will be too scary for me

Any tips?

I don't get how someone can get so invested in something (especially an Alien game- come on, people, at this point, the Xenomorph is not scary) that they feel they'll have a heart attack, especially when the majority of the scares are jump scares (Outlast).

Nah in alien Isolation its more about tension than jumpscares. I think this makes it even scarier for example five nights at freddys isn't that scary because it is only jumpscares.

Also I just played through the Moira Asylum part in Thief on PS4 which scared me before and now it didn't scare me at all just made my heart pump a tiny bit. I was lamas laughing my way through it. I know alien isolation is WAY scarier but I want it so bad that I might still buy it

Alien isolation is so good. I played in on hard first playthrough. Died a lot but it was more realistic. That thing has great senses.

The game was not scary to me, after you encounter the Alien for the first few times you get used to it and it kinda loses its scariness.

@thomabsolutely: It's probably just the volume. Lower it down a bit and you'll be fine. :P

That's the way to do it. My thumb rule for playing horror games is to have a volume that is close to the volume you would hear in real life. Much more immersive. But you need good fucking headphones. Not some crappy gaming headset or Beats by Dr. Dre lol, you'd just kill your ears.

Okay! So i finally bought the game about 2 weeks ago and it is AMAZING! I have been playing on medium difficulty which isn't too hard or too stressful. I am really enjoying the game and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes alien or never tried a horror game

Take a shot of Jack and grab a cold beer. You'll be relaxed and no xenomorph will get you.
