As we all know, with each passing year there are fewer and fewer third party exclusives. As it stands right now, each system has a good number of quality exclusives, as well as having a good number of multiplats. But in your house right now, if you looked at your game library for whichever system(s) you own, how many of the games are exclusive to that system?

I have 15 xbox 360 games, 7 are exclusive and 1 came out a long time before the PS3 version, so I would say they are very important.

Well, seeing as both HD systems pretty much have identical multiplatform lineups and very few (read: almost zero) third-party exclusives -- quite a bit. Problem is that I already own both systems, so my habits haven't changed much from last generation. One system is my go-to for third-party and first-party games, while the other is primarily used for first-party stuff.

Not very important. As long as the game is good, exclusive or not, it will be in my library.

I have about 50 PS2 games, only half of it are exclusives.

I only have 2 PS3 games so far, 1 exclusive (MGS4) and 1 multiplat (Oblivion GotY). Next games I'll buy are GTA4, Assassin's Creed, and waiting for NBA 2K9 & Star Wars TFU. Only 2 upcoming exclusives this year I'm interested, LPB and Valkyria Chronicles.

I'm a bit disappointed with exclusives so far because most are FPS, one my hatest genre. Hehe. I might get Fallout 3 if camera view can be changed to 3rd person.

2 - MGS4 & Warhawk

Fallout 3 & Bioshock are the only games I look forward too this year (multi)

It's not important to my "library" at all :P

As long as the games I want are available on my platform(s) of choice, I honestly couldn't care less if they're available elsewhere. A game being an exclusive or not doesn't affect my enjoyment of playing it in any way.

Zero importance. Every gaming generation I usually have all or 90% of the platforms in the particular generation.

This generation I'm skipping the PS3 due to the lack of my preferred games. Same situation happened with the PS2, I preferred the Xbox over it.

I had all 4 last-gen. (PS2, Xbox, DreamCast, GameCube)

I had both the gen before that (N64 and PS1).

Before the PS1 generation, I was too young to have consoles, stuck to my PC.

I only own about 8 ps3 games and the only exclusive ones are metal gear solid 4, warhawk and pain. I own 6 xbox 360 games and three are exclusive, quake 4, condemned criminal origins, and Gears of War. Its not important as long as the game is good but sometimes it makes a certain system more unique i guess. I am getting Dead Rising and Resistance for my birthday so i can build on my current gen collections. I still consider dead rising a exclusive title so far lol even though its going to the Wii. I can care less about the Wii version though.

Exclusives are just like every other game to me, if they are good I will buy them and play them, and beat them. Fanboyism makes me sick as well as this constant need to have exclusives in the first palce.

The point of the post wasn't what you thought about exclusives, it was how many of your game are exclusive, like 5 out of 10 or whatever.

The point of this board is to create discussion. If this thread turned into list-mania, it would get locked.

In fact, it is still open only because people offered their thoughts and created decent discussion.

I don't place a lot of conscious importance on having exclusives. I'm not even sure I know how many I have. I know there's at least 12 for my PS2 (4 Ratchet & Clanks, 4 Jaks, 3 Slys, and Rez in a pear tree), but that's out of 100. And Rez was Re-released on the X360. I probably have more, but I don't know for sure which ones are exclusive.

Thank you, and also the topic asks us how important exclusives are to our collection and with that I gave an opinion based upon my stance on exclusives.

Granted exclusives are needed to sell a certain system, but that is not all that I look into, I also look into online capabilities as well as how well the system plays, and the over all community surrounding the system.

I don't care if a game is exclusive or not. The only console I own from this generation is the 360, so all of my games are bought for it.

a bit over half of my ps3 games are exclusives. all of my wii games are exclusive :P

anyway, the exclusives sell me on a console. i was going to buy whatever console had mgs4 (having at the time a lot of exclusive support from eastern devs didnt hurt either). of course MS took its sweet time building up its japanese titles. if they had hustled up a bit i wouldve give the 360 a better look since its growing a pretty decent library of japanese games nowadays.

EDIT: and it was the (for the most part anyway) nintendo games that sold me on wii, and not its waggle.

Xbox 360: 40 games, 18 exclusive.
PlayStation 3: 12 games, 6 exclusive.
Wii: 12 games, 9 exclusive.

Of course, I'm rarely even conscious of what's exclusive since I run the table on hardware.

I don't place a heavy emphasis on exclusives since I'm bound to buying all the consoles anyway, though I've noticed that most of the multiplatform titles I've owned happen to be either on PC or the Xbox.

I think this depends on what you own...

PS3 and 360 owners can't claim it's hugely important because they have almost identical libraries.

Wii owners can make a strong case as most titles are exclusive or different in someway.

That being said I own a few ps3 exclusives, mostly from the psn, adnd MGS4
