Not very important. As long as the game is good, exclusive or not, it will be in my library.
I have about 50 PS2 games, only half of it are exclusives.
I only have 2 PS3 games so far, 1 exclusive (MGS4) and 1 multiplat (Oblivion GotY). Next games I'll buy are GTA4, Assassin's Creed, and waiting for NBA 2K9 & Star Wars TFU. Only 2 upcoming exclusives this year I'm interested, LPB and Valkyria Chronicles.
I'm a bit disappointed with exclusives so far because most are FPS, one my hatest genre. Hehe. I might get Fallout 3 if camera view can be changed to 3rd person.
As we all know, with each passing year there are fewer and fewer third party exclusives. As it stands right now, each system has a good number of quality exclusives, as well as having a good number of multiplats. But in your house right now, if you looked at your game library for whichever system(s) you own, how many of the games are exclusive to that system?fuzzyturret
2 - MGS4 & Warhawk
Fallout 3 & Bioshock are the only games I look forward too this year (multi)
It's not important to my "library" at all :P
all of my wii games are exclusives and have "Mario" in the title (except twilight princess and metroid prime)
and i only have 1 ps3 exclusive, Metal Gear Solid 4
As long as the games I want are available on my platform(s) of choice, I honestly couldn't care less if they're available elsewhere. A game being an exclusive or not doesn't affect my enjoyment of playing it in any way.
Zero importance. Every gaming generation I usually have all or 90% of the platforms in the particular generation.
This generation I'm skipping the PS3 due to the lack of my preferred games. Same situation happened with the PS2, I preferred the Xbox over it.
I had all 4 last-gen. (PS2, Xbox, DreamCast, GameCube)
I had both the gen before that (N64 and PS1).
Before the PS1 generation, I was too young to have consoles, stuck to my PC.
The point of the post wasn't what you thought about exclusives, it was how many of your game are exclusive, like 5 out of 10 or whatever.fuzzyturret
The point of this board is to create discussion. If this thread turned into list-mania, it would get locked.
In fact, it is still open only because people offered their thoughts and created decent discussion.

Thank you, and also the topic asks us how important exclusives are to our collection and with that I gave an opinion based upon my stance on exclusives.
Granted exclusives are needed to sell a certain system, but that is not all that I look into, I also look into online capabilities as well as how well the system plays, and the over all community surrounding the system.
a bit over half of my ps3 games are exclusives. all of my wii games are exclusive :P
anyway, the exclusives sell me on a console. i was going to buy whatever console had mgs4 (having at the time a lot of exclusive support from eastern devs didnt hurt either). of course MS took its sweet time building up its japanese titles. if they had hustled up a bit i wouldve give the 360 a better look since its growing a pretty decent library of japanese games nowadays.
EDIT: and it was the (for the most part anyway) nintendo games that sold me on wii, and not its waggle.
Xbox 360: 40 games, 18 exclusive.
PlayStation 3: 12 games, 6 exclusive.
Wii: 12 games, 9 exclusive.
Of course, I'm rarely even conscious of what's exclusive since I run the table on hardware.
