Whenever I get a few spare bucks, I always run to Gamestop to pick up a few old Xbox games. They go for about $15 and cheaper. The cheapest I've seen was about $3. I've been trying to get ahold of as many good Xbox games as I can before the major video game stores retire them completely.

How much longer do you guys think last-gen games are going to be sold?

I think Gamestop's policy is that they will always carry games from one generation earlier. So, they should stop carrying PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox games when the next systems come out.

Well, I believe time is rapidly running out for Xbox games. I just took a PS3 I was renting back to Rent-A-Center due to financial probs. I was kinda hoping to get an Xbox since I've had about 5-6 different PS2's over the years. The manager at Gamestop said that they no longer sell Xbox's and that they only have very few Xbox games left and that once those few are gone, they're not getting anymore. So I got yet another PS2, but it's all good, I'm having a great time playing all of these old games I got yesterday.

I rarely find Xbox games anywhere here in the UK unless you count the handful to be found in the 2nd hand section. PS2 games are still about, but that's because they still sell. I would expect in the next couple of years they would have practically been phased out.

Probably until the next gen rolls around. That's pretty much how it goes at gamestop.

As for Gamecube and Xbox, I think there time is nearing very shortly if it hasn't come already. A lot of used game stores have stopped accepting them for trades (my local GS has). Now is the time to buy if you haven't.

GBA games at most stores have disappeared off shelves too.

As for PS2, I think we'll get at least two more years in regular retail selling before anything happens. Though it's up to Sony and the consumers for that one.
