(Goes without saying, but PLEASE dont spoil anything other than what has already been spoiled)

I bought the witcher 3 during the steam summer sale and have not gotten around to playing it yet, so i got spoilt on three things, I know in one ending ciri and geralt die, another ending where ciri becomes evil (that's all i know) and the main ending where ciri becomes a witcher and geralt gets married to yen. Also i know ciri's biological father is the bad guy, not sure if thats a spoiler?

Now, i dont even know any of these character's as i have never played a witcher game before, this is all i know, has this game still worth playing do you guys think? And if so how much will what i know ruin the story as a whole? I was really mad and upset that such a amazing game was spoiled for me.

These aren't really spoilers - more just vague indications of what happens to one of the characters.

There's a bad ending. There isn't an ending where Ciri "turns evil". The other ending isn't necessarily the best one. And Geralt does not have to stay with Yen (although Yen is obviously the best romance option, and the canon choice for the series).

Also, the stuff about Ciri's father isn't a spoiler. It's from the book series, and is assumed knowledge for the game.

Knowing this stuff shouldn't change your enjoyment of the game.

Thanks for the reply kind stranger! It's good to know that's the case, downloading the game right now...

The endings in Witcher 3 are useless, you play that game more for the journey than the destination. Go for it.

@Black_Knight_00: Exactly. It's all about the story and trip you take to get to the end.

@zerkrer295: It's all ruined for you now. No point in you enjoying the stories, gameplay, graphics, or anything else.

Sarcasm aside, those "endings" are 5 minutes after a HUGE swath of gameplay, and don't really effect anything. So...should the fact that you know a few different "endings" (which consist of a couple minute art slides you can youtube) keep you from playing one of the greatest games of all time?

That's for you to decide.

The main storylines in W3 are the least interesting bit about the game. Personally I just ignored them.

The best thing about W3 are all the side missions and side storylines. You should play the game for those. They really are the best side missions/storylines ever seen in rpgs.

That was pretty much what I did, even though I didn't think the main story was that bad. The side missions and side stories helped me further explore a lot of areas and Witcher lore that the main story just breezed over.

*though I won't say they are "useless"
