I've decided that Sega should not focus on getting back into the console race. What they need to do is go back to the names that, for a short time at least, made them the hottest video game company on the planet. I'm also going to go so far as to say that it's a shame that the Wii wasn't a failure, because if Nintendo bombed 3 systems in a row, they may have gone the Sega route and become a software company only. It'd be nice to have Nintendo's franchises available on powerful, nom-gimmicky systems.

I think if Sega make a handheld and it is successful it could be theyre ticket back into home consoles. They could possibly realise this is the Vision sells well also. I know I will be buying a Vision simply to help Sega. If they made a cheap but NOT NASTY $200AUS system with graphics of the Wii's, but had heaps of theyre excellent arcade games, they would take the market by storm once again. I would have a wonderful heart attack and run down the street in the nude wooping if Sega same back.

Sega Vision sounds interesting, first I hear of it. Id love a new Sega conosole. When they first dropped out of hardware they were asked in an EGM interview if we'd ever see another Sega console and they said "never say never again". So it might happen but not for a very long time unfortunately.

I hate how everyone complains about currentSonic games. Thier not that bad. Sonic Adventure (part1) had all the boring gem-hunting and shooting elements that people complain about and even fishing, which is even worse yet most everyone loved SA and it had very high scores. Only Sonic games that have disappointed me are "Black Knight" (very short and quite easy) and Riders (spastic controls ruined for me).

I know everyone complains about Sonic 06 but I thought it was fine. I finished it a long time ago and my only complaint was the loading times, gameplay was fine for me and many others obviously since many people have finished it with 100% which is even harder than what I did just beating the 3 stories and Final Battle.

OK. Saying that Sonic Adventure is anything less than the best 3D sonic game(sonic the hedgehog 3 wins the 2D) is a ridiculous accusation. Furthermore, saying that Sonic the Hedgehog for the PS3 and 360 is anything but the worst sonic game ever is just wrong. The controls were fine, but movement was sporadic, the camera was off, and on the level at which i stopped playing (the burning city level) if you were off by a fraction of a centimeter when jumping onto the FIRST RAIL you died. And lives are precious in a sonic game.

on the actual topic i would love sega to get back in the hardware department. I would buy the Dreamcast 2.

[QUOTE="Ryu_8023"]Sega should come back to making consoles. I think they can pull it off. If they have an awesome launch tittles. Like maybe a new sonic,Shenmue,Virtual fighter,Nights, and get some other 3rd party developers like EA and activision (which some say was a huge mistake of Sega to not get EA to support the dreamcast)...hopefully this is not whishful thinking....hey while we are on the subject remember when Sega trademarked 2 names (renegade and something else) whatever happened to them?-Pred-Alien-
Nights got a sequel and wasnt so great. Virtua Fighter is on PS3/360 and its fantastic. AFAIK, Shenmue was a huge bomb and Sega have since moved on.

Shenmue may have tanked when it was release, but it has since been accepted as one of the best RPGs ever and regaurded by most as a masterpiece.

I think Sega downsized after Dreamcast also after Dreamcast failed so did a lot of franchises that made Sega into what it was. Even now they barely produce any decent games. Ever since the latest Sonics, i cringe when i see Segas logo come up when the game loads.

Disagree. Sonic Adventure was not the best 3D sonic. It wasn't the worst but it wasn't the best. I give that to the severely underrated Sonic Heroes. Sonic Adventure had loads of glitches, the hub world was awful, most of the non Sonic stories weren't very good and dont even get be started on Big the cats story. The Sonic levels also weren't as good as the Sonic/Shadow levels in SA2 and most of the levels in Sonic Heroes. I did like it better than most 3D sonics though. Sonic Adventure 2 would be better if the knuckles/rouge levels just didn't exist. They completely ruined the game. Sonic Heroes was the most consistantly fun 3D Sonic imo. If only the special stages were better.

Anyway if Sega did come back with a new console it would obviously be doomed to failure, but I'd buy it anyway purely to show respect to the once great Sega.

I don't believe it's an RPG, but it's really cool nonetheless. I'm around 4 hours into it myself.
