While I do find Sonic a great addition that'll put to rest the old debate as to whether or not Mario is superior to Sonic, it wouldn't disappoint me if he were never announced since I wasn't really expecting him anyways.

exactly what i was thinking. and Sonic and Mario were like the two biggest enemies back when Genesis and Super Nintendo were competing
Yeah, Mario is still in awesome games and Sonic is... um... yeah. As long as Sonic doesn't talk, he can be on my TV for this game and I can pretend I am in a parallel universe where Sonic games just stopped after CD or something.

Not sure how it is pitiful but I wouldn't care if he wasn't there. On the other hand at least the poor guy gets to be in a next gen game that doesn't suck or is merely average.
Do you live in some crazy alternate universe where the 90s never ended? Where you live, did a Sonic game every have voice acting? Are platform elements still the main focus instead of one part of a bunch of bad modes of play?
And most of all, did the Sonic franchise once again put out a game to compete with Mario on the 360/PS3? Like where you live, was that game not terrible? :shock:
If we were talking the first Smash Bros. game, I would have lost bowel control if Sonic was in. A decade of lame games has conditioned me to not care. I wonder how somebody can still like Sonic without pretending the last decade didn't happen.
