Sounds incredible, but the only system I have that can run it is a PS3, and the PS3 version is gimped, so for now I'll have to skip it. Maybe I'll pick up the PC version down the line when I get a gaming PC.CarnageHeart
I tend to trust my PS3 more, as I'm on my third 360, but Bethesda didn't really leave me with much of a choice on this one. Sometimes I just hate developers.
Was going to make official thread, but I have two bio tests in one day today,...Anyway game looks amazing, as does Resistance 2, despite my previous rationale that Killzone 2 would end up getting the better reviewsHiResDes
Ah, the sequel to the "halo killer" lol. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, but maybe this one will be better. Anyway, great sig. I can't wait for Watchmen!

Ya the game needs to be patched. Its not framerate issues or graphical issues from what i've read, but things like notifications popping up that will stutter the game for a few seconds and blur the screen. How does that even get through testing is beyond me. I will probably get this for the 360 unless they patch it by that time.
I'll probably rent it first. Like someone else said, I'm not sure my 360 can handle this for 100 hours, especially if the game is prone to crashing like IGN said. And man, those character models and animations are horrible.creepy_mike
They don't look any worse than Oblivion. That game was just a mockery to the human race.
I'm not sure my 360 can handle this for 100 hours,creepy_mikePeople really believe this? :o
Or is this the stealthy way to troll the system one despises?

Check out the Giantbomb review. They go into a bit more detail about the differences between all of the versions. PC version being the best of course.People really believe this? :o[QUOTE="creepy_mike"] I'm not sure my 360 can handle this for 100 hours,Mash_Affect

The people who are on their replacement systems probably believe it for some odd reason.
Anyway, my 360 is starting to make a funny noise when I'm playing games, which isn't a good sign. But the PS3 version is worse. However, another source said that while it's worse it's not that major, definitely not anything that will sap your enjoyment out of it in any way. Hrm. Either way I'll be waiting a bit since there's so many other games with a higher priority from me.
Now the question is do I Get the PC or 360 version? .....argh.... improved performance......achievments......*sigh* Its sad but I love cheevys too much so I think I have to go with the 360 version. *pulls hair out*GodModeEnabled
It's a Games for Windows game though, which means that the PC version has the same achievments as the 360 one and it will still be part of your Xbox Live profile. Seriously!

Honestly? I'm on my 3rd Xbox 360. I can't guarantee that this 360 will break within the next 100 hours of use but it's certainly possible.
I'm really disappointed that the PS3 version is so buggy. I meet or exceed the recommended specs for the PC, but that doesn't garauntee that it will look as good as IGN says it does (why can't they list the specs they play it at?). That leaves the 360, a console that is loud and I'm not sure it will make it through a 100 hour RPG. I look forward to impressions from you guys on the various platforms to base my decision on. :)CAD-Monkey
If you meet and exceed the recommend thet requirements, the PC version is the clear choice, and not just for better graphics.

LOL, achievements, they are pointless, i wish they never put them PC games, seriously, anyone saying that is the reason the get the 360 version needs a brain transplant. Seriously, what the hell is the stupid point of them? To make matters worse, some of the reaosn you get achievements are incredibly lame.

If it gives people reasons to explore and deviate from the way they play games (under the guidance of the developer since they are the ones that implement the achievements), then I don't see how it can be a bad thing. If people don't like them, just turn notifications off and ignore them. No harm, no foul.
By the way, Fry's has the non-CE edition on sale for $52.99, along with Saint's Row 2 for $49.99 and Far Cry 2 for $52.99.
I was tempted to buy the CE, but the lunchbox, bobblehead, and "Making of" didn't seem worth the $30 difference from the Fry's sale price. I almost bought Far Cry 2 with the difference I saved, but then came to the realization that I have Dead Space, Fable II, LBP, Fallout 3, and come Wednesday Scene It 2. I need another game like I need another sphincter.

LOLOLOLOLOL oh you're so clever. If only I had your intellect and wit life would be so much easier! I actually guessed right away by your hilarious screename that you would have something of immense value to add to this conversation. Part of the "reaosn" I like achievments is that they add a lot to the gameplay actually, and are quite fun to unlock. If I get more value and playtime from my game because of them, than its a win- win scenario for me.

You what else? Depending on how much of a loser you are, you could buy the PC and 360 versions and get the same achievments TWICE on the same profile!

I wouldn't buy the same game twice though, thats crazy.

You did the same thing as that guy when you said
Everytime I see someone say they love Metal Gear and it should be GOTY it makes me so mad I punch myself in the junk and start dry humping my computer desk screaming SOLID SNAAAAKE. *eye twitch*GodModeEnabled
Both of you guys dont understand what the appeal is and judged a group of people based on their opinion...except you said it much funnier. (I still love you)

(I still love you)F1LengendI never judged anyone, I make fun of that game because its easy to, and I can get some laughs. I never hated the game I just thought it was the worst in the series. And while I may discuss why I don't like it, I don't troll people about it and understand that they can like something I don't so you're wrong. Are you seriously gonna take the side of some n00b who told me I need a brain transplant? :(

You totally missed the memo, dude. You can't NOT think MGS4 isn't the greatest game ever, because if you do, you obviously are secretly huffing glue and worshiping unseemly, pagan GODS. You WILL like MGS4, whether you like it or NOT.
I'm playing Fallout 3 on my PC fully maxed out and the game is gorgeous. I've been playing for almost 2 hours now and I just finished strolling through a elementary school and killing a bunch of raiders.
The combat is everything I thought it would be. The enemy AI isn't on a FPS level but they do duck and dodge and try to reload out of sight for the most part. VATS is a nice addition but I don't have too much skill in weapons to make it good yet. I've shot a few people's heads off so far, sneak attacked a couple people with bats.
The game is littered with so many things to pick up that I odn't even know what most of them are for. I guess since everything has a value that I can sell it but some things sound important like surgical tubing, bone saws, glue and leg braces.
There also seems to be a ton of useful items to pick up, much more than the original Fallouts. In the beginning i found a box with 5 stimpaks in it and automatically new this game was different than the original. it was unheard of to find that many. It seems to be because the characters in this game have a higher amount of HP's and need more items to heal themselves.
You can gather meat from roaches and ants, fridges and things and each edible item gives back some HP but also add rad points. You get to 1000 rad points and you're dead.
already a ton of weapons and clothing. baseball hats, helmets, armor, suits, jackets and clothes that either just boost armor or boost stats.
The radio function is great and so far I've listened to the Enclave radio which is full of patriot propaganda and US anthems.
And yes there are achievements
loving it so far but really haven't gone on any quests yet...just random wandering and adventuring.
I'm curious if I can use the Fallout/Fallout 2 standby ability layout and make it through the game with ease (maxed intelligence, high agility, high perception, middling everything else) but I don't think they give you the gifted trait to pull that off. I guess I'll find out.
I also hope the 'throwing' skill is actually useful. It was one of the garbage ones from before since the selection of throwing knives and grenades was pathetic.

There are a few perks that help with intelligence and speech and so far for throwing weapons I've found grenades and darts.

Here's hoping grenades do damage this time around!
Man, I wish I was at home. I have my copy sitting on the side of my desk and it's taunting me.

That is word for word exactly what I said. Well done sir, I reward you another free internet. You are rolling in them now.
*ahem* on topic, Smerlus would you say it does the Fallout name justice? Or should we go in with a fresh mind?

What are your specs, if you don't mind me asking?
Definitely not taking "doyousmellit's" side, my point was that people have a hard time respecting things they do not like for what it does well. I mean if LBP or Fable 2 were to win GOTY over MGS4, I could see why based on what they bring to the table. And no, you didnt judge anyone.F1LengendI understand your point completly. But rest assured im not that close minded of a person. I make fun of things I like and dislike, and bring some humor to it all. We'll never agree on MGS4 but at least I can present my argument in such a manner that you'll get a chuckle out of it. I also don't judge people based on what games they play, or anything that superficial. I don't care, im just here to have fun.

I don't like one game and most of the forum breaks out their torches and pitchforks and bands together to stop me like IM the badguy! Go figure. "A duurr what do you mean you dont like cutscenes LOL tan dun play MGS gamez lolololol" *sigh* Thats it. Im putting this game down for death.... in a video blog *shifty eyes* *runs off*
