http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/979/979857p1.html- 'Save Corruption'

6.2 - Wow this is another bad review from IGN, I normally agree with them with a lot of there game reviews, notice how uneven all the scores are for each. Funny though as the PC version gets a 7.5 (a lot of mixed reviews from everywhere), they have been working on the 360 + PS3 for a couple of extra months delaying it quite a lot and updating it with all the PC patches. If they we're to review the PC version again now with all the patches it certainly would be getting at least an 8.2 as I have played it and like very much. I believe IGN put about 2 hours into game play then thought hey we better review this game now so we can be the first people to have reviewed it.

Anyways hopefully we'll get some more reviews from other guys and UK IGN would be nice, I'll also be getting this game 16th May (4 days after release) I will write a review after a few hours of game play and then again after completing.

Also I wanted to add I read somewhere the PS3 version was what kept on delaying the 360 so with a bit of hope the PS3 might have been worked on more and hopefully will get a higher score :D

The tech issues and bugs IGN lays out are horrendous. Ascaron is by no means the only developer willing to ship a broken game (nods towards Bethesda and Slant Six) butthe practice is unacceptable. Its a shame that platform holders aren't ensuring that games run well before they approve a game.

Encountered in the Xbox 360 version were a few oddball issues that negatively affected the play experience. The game crashed a few times, for one thing. Companion AI is still hyperactive, meaning followers will run into the wilderness and aggro large groups of monsters even if you're just trying to stick to a path. A lot of the times you can just run away, but it can still be a nuisance. One particular problem I experienced had to do with character movement, where sometimes the hero would randomly start wandering off after an attack command was inputted. While this isn't much of problem against single enemies or small groups, as you start encountering huge enemy swarms it can be pretty frustrating, especially when combined with rabid AI companions attracting the attention of every enemy in the area.

A more serious issue was the corruption of my game save file, which happened after a crash and required a trip into the Xbox Dashboard to delete the save file and restart. And by restart, I mean clean restart, as in all my progress was wiped across multiple characters. While it's impossible to say how widespread an issue like this may be at this point, it's something you should be aware of before making a purchase decision.

I don't know it sounds like they were reviewing unfinished code, I won't jump to any conclusions until GS's review comes out.

deleting save files is a pretty serious issue. even if it doesnt happen often, sacred 2 is the type of game you pour lots of time into so youd still be likely to experience it. i really hope its a 360 only bug or something that gets patched soon.

also, the review mentioned that interface wasnt as good as the pc version. i wouldnt jump on ign just yet. wait for a bigger concensus.

I don't think so, they at least have the decency to review games in a finished state, now that the demand for them to get their reviews out before the competiton have waned.

Given the extra time the console versions have had, and the time to discover plenty of bugs on the PC version, there really is no excuse for the console versions to contain enough bugs that it draws so much attention from a review.
