With RE4 and GTA: SA coming to VR that are exclusive to the Quest 2... unfortunately but hopefully it will be available on other VR headsets in the future and it will become a trend. Experiencing your old favorite games in VR is pretty cool I've done it with my old Rift and Vorpx. Anyways what old games would you like to play in VR?

Here's some of my choices all of these game will obviously be in first person mode and have improved graphics.

  • GTA: VC
  • Sleeping Dogs
  • Max Payne
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Mafia 2
  • Spec ops: The line
  • Cyberpunk 2077 hopefully without the bugs and better AI
  • Batman Arkham Origins

Hmm, Final Fantasy 14. Giving diversity to the setting, and the game environment itself is fantastic.

Sleeping dogs probably gonna sucks on VR. The terrible rubberbanding for race missions, poor camera control and takes way too long to knock basic enemies. But its just my personal opinion on base game.

All of that could be fixed pretty easily the biggest draw having Sleeping Dogs in VR IMO is driving around Hong Kong at night listening to the radio and seeing all the neon signs and detail of the world. It's amazing how much the game still holds up especially the 2012 original PC version.

Having played it recently... eh I doubt that.

But I understand the love, its a pretty unique location.

I don't own vr games equipment, but i play vr games regularly by going to a place that rents the equipment so i can play with my friends. Honestly most old action games would be fun in vr as long as you have a huge room or an omnidirectional treadmill, but neither of those circumstances are common where i live.

There's no special angle the game still looks great in the day but obviously it really stands out at night maybe the 360 and PS3 versions look like turds.

Nah that shot only works when u walking slowly, over shoulder camera to get the cinematic shots. Actual movement sucks, running or driving the illusion disappears. Literally same pics from this youtube video.

Still I get it, its a unique location. Neon lights, skyrise, asian vibes perfect for VR.

I disagree I just don't see how it aged terribly especially compared to other open world games from that time.

The game is just small, bland and the city itself is bit "soulless" past the first district. Past the 1st district which the pic you shared, other district is just bland copy pasted buildings. The first district itself was small and compact so you wont see much neon lights and scenery past few blocks anyway. Halfway through the game when you get to the other district the game get extremely repetitive and devs knows how bland the other 3 district is and try to move you on fast.

Again I agree with the location and uniqueness of hong kong I think the location is brimming with untapped potential. I just have problems with the game itself it was a great game but it also a product of its time.

I don't agree with your criticism about the city but that's fine. I respect your opinion you are more mature then alot of the posters here and yes it's a great game it's a damn shame that the sequel got cancelled.

That has always been the dream. It's not Mechwarrior specifically but Iron Rebellion just came out for PC VR and Oculus/Quest. It's a mech game built specifically for VR.

Thinking of games that not only would be cool in VR, but that would also lend themselves well to it (i.e. first person games, detailed environments, visually appealing, maybe open world) here would be some of my picks:

  • Deus Ex 4 and 5 (Human Revolution and Mankind Divided)
  • Dying Light
  • Mirror's Edge 1 and 2 (although the recent game "Stride" is basically this)
  • STALKER (although Into The Breach is basically this)
  • Sea of Thieves (but there are a couple VR pirate games out there that are basically trying to be this)
  • Breath of the Wild (this would be incredible for how amazingly interactive that whole world is)

@warmblur: I just picked up Doom 3 VR, and i gotta say, it's a perfect fit.

If i had to choose another, older shooter that would be fantastic in VR, assuming it is ported just as well as Doom, it would be the original F.E.A.R and it's expansions.

I think the Bioshock series would also be very good.

I think it would be really awesome to get Until Dawn in VR. It would take a lot of changes, but just imagine how horrific that "don't move" mechanic would be when it feels like the monsters are a foot away from your face!

I heard somewhere that Subnautica has a VR version but that it was really glitchy and laggy. Maybe once the tech evolves a bit more we can really feel like we're swimming with the reefbacks!

Thief 1/2 absolutely.

Be suited and argue, much better in VR.
