So there are a few years in gaming which seem to be regarded as exceptionally good in hindsight, like 1998, 2001, and 2004 due to the sheer amount of great games that got released in each of those years. But 2011 seems to eclipse them all. Consider that all of the following were released in 2011:
>Portal 2
>Dead Space 2
>LittleBigPlanet 2
>Killzone 3
>Bulletstorm
>L.A. Noire
>Infamous 2
>Deus Ex: HR
>Gears of War 3
>Dark Souls
>Rage
>Batman AC
>Battlefield 3
>Uncharted 3
>Skyrim
>Skyward Sword
>SWTOR
>Shogun 2
>Alice: Madness Returns
>The Witcher 2
>Hard Reset
>Crysis 2
>Child of Eden
>Sonic Generations
>Atelier Totori (technically 2010 but released in US 2011)
>DCS A-10C Warthog
>MW3
>Rayman Origins
>OoT 3D
>Ico/SotC HD
>MGS HD Collection
>Super Mario 3DS Land
>Halo CE Anniversary
>Assassian's Creed Revelations
>E.Y.E. Divine Cybermacy
>Trackmania 2
>Saint's Row The Third
>Tropico 4
>Catherine
>Yakuza 4
>Duke Nukem Forever (not a good game at all, but noteworthy for the fact that it actually got released)
>Xenoblade
>Red Orchetra 2
>Crysis (console versions)
>From Dust
>Frozen Synapse
>DiRT 3
>Pokemon Black & White
And I probably forgot a few too. And in addition to all of that this is also the year the 3DS was released and the PS Vita will also be released (in Asia) this year as well.
So, what do you guys think, biggest year in gaming ever?
