Basically, all previous gen system are classified as legacy consoles. All have had an effect on the state of gaming as it now exists. I do agree that the PS2, Xbox and GameCube systems should still have their own boards, though.muthsera666

I agree. there are still selling tones of games and consoles and the board was still alive it didnt die.

"Legacy Platform" does not seem to me a very fitting label for the Ps2, it is neither outdated nor discontinued. Not only are new games continuing to be released for the system, but the hardware itself is still being manufactured and undergoing new revisions.

PS2 is last generation. The concept of this board is consoles that aren't current generation. Whatever you call it, the PS2 belongs here.

it's not old enough to be a legacy system. it should still have its own board.

the PS2 is still strong and there is no sign of it slowing up anytime soon. Its more popular than the PS3! Also, it is the best-selling video game console to date, selling over 120 million consoles, while the original xbox has sold around 24 million. I don't think the PS2 will ever die at this rate. Also, I'm pretty sure that the best selling version of Guitar hero 3 was the one PS2 Version. At this rate, the PS2 will never die.

So maybe, it is. I think Gamespot included the PS2 in this board because the PS2 board was not so active unlike the PS3 and XBOX 360.
