It is terrible due to the over abundance of games. This have hindered the ability of gamers to savor games causing most gamers to look for their next game/fix immediately after completing a game. In some cases they don't finish any game because they are too occupied looking forward for the next one and the next one. So yes its a terrible time to be a gamer if the excessive pumping out of games and sequels are overwhelming the enjoyment.

Lol, that's a great problem to have, too many great games.
Perhaps it is a reason for many to develop some self discipline, which would not only make games more enjoyable, but even improve other aspects of life as well.
Absolutely. I enjoyed gaming more when my mom had to buy my games for me, (still miss you, mom) and she could only buy games for us around Christmas and birthdays. We had to squeeze maximum enjoyment out of each game because it could be MONTHS before we had another, and our old home city didn't have any place that rented NES games except for some small time local movie place that tended to not get new releases in a timely manner, to say the least. Also, I was the only one who ever wanted to rent Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. I always had an odd affection for that abysmal game.It is terrible due to the over abundance of games. I guess it depends on the platform (thus your selection of available games) to determine how good things are right now. I own all 3 consoles and a gaming PC but have only been playing games on the PS3 and PC lately. I'm disappointed with many recent games like Uncharted 3, Batman AC, and BF3 which just arent as good as they should have been IMO. Uncharted 3 suffered from a lackluster story and horrific frame rates, Batman AC didnt draw me in like its predeccesor, and BF3 is now chock full of cheaters/hackers. Still plenty of other fantastic games though :)
