MGS4 to the 360... Maybe?

If this is true, it's been one of the worse kept secrets in video game history. I honestly want them to just confirm one way of the other and leave it at that.

amazon is taking pre-orders for alan wake for the PS3, due out March 08

so allready people...come on. lets quit buying into the media created fanboy hype! we all know that if and when the MGS4 announcement is made ...for real...it surely wont be a slipup on the behalf of some admin on a shoddy lowrank videogame weborder site...:roll:

There's two options here.

1.) Yes, it is coming to the 360 and someone's uncle's cousins roommates brother's fiance's neighbor said so. Wooo Billy was right! Now let's wait for someone from Sony/Microsoft/Konami to say for real.

2.) These rumors are put out there for no reason but to hype the game up more. Viral marketing people. I can't believe how many people have never even addressed it. Oh, you want this game? Hmm... it might be out for the 360... or it might not. Let's get people mulling over it. So then later on, you get Mr. Metal Gear fan to go out and buy a PS3 because he (or she) can't stand it anymore and knows it will be out for the PS3 for sure.

Ok... maybe a 3rd option.

It's an exclusive... for 2008. But part of this contract is that no one from Microsoft may say a word about it until a certain date so as to let people buy PS3s for this game for a while.

Its never been confirmed and I dont think it will...

If MGS4 will be released on XBox 360 by August 2008, that means they have been working on the port for a while now.

So far Konami has denied this, and if they do make a port for 360, it will take much longer than that because Kojima have said the game has been programmed specifically for cell processor, so redoing all the A.I, animation, physics calculation will be major work and will take quite a long time.

Unless MGS4 sales for PS3 is really poor, I really don't see any reason why Konami will release this game for 360 due to the cost. It would be much profitable for Konami to just make another game than spend all that money for a port which probably won't sell that well if it takes that long to make.

However, do I see possibility for Metal Gear Online going mult-platform, it won't have A.I because it is online game so they would have leverage of working on physics engine for 360 which then wouldn't be very difficult. I wish Konami can slap Microsoft in the face by not using Microsoft dedicated server and provide online gaming service to Xbox Live Silver owners too. Because I don't care which system you own, you shouldn't be paying fees for simple online games (simple meaning not MMO).
