"We've seen some research that says 60 percent of people who bought a Wii Fit play it once and don't play it again. So we have to get the balance right, because what we are doing is bringing new consumers into the market for the first time in their lives sometimes—and we have to treat them with respect,"
This is totally how i felt about the wii fit from the start. lucky for nintendo that people bought it, but i didnt see it sticking. My personal opinion is that people who are not gamers are naively buying peripherals that core gamers know better than to buy. Question is, does anyone care? people still seem to be buying these things like hotcakes, but will they be jaded for the next "must have" wii peripheral? Id love to know where they got their data though. This seems like a hard thing to track.
