You'll finally get your EA titles on Steam, at least...

EA already has their own distribution platform, why would they buy Steam. Same for Microsoft.
Honestly the smart thing to do would be to let Steam sell their games. No one wants to use Origin or what Games for Windows Live calls itself now; they only use it because they have to. Hell, Quantum Break came to Steam because it sold horribly.

first off Valve would have absolutely zero interest in selling to MS at any price and its a private company so MS cant force it.
second off I find it odd how the media just assumes a larger company can buy whatever it wants regardless of if one is selling or not
valve seems like the best from a strategic perspective, i wonder how much it'd take for gabe to sell out. afaik they've never disclosed any of their finances. ea tried to buy them in 2012 for $1billion, gabe said he'd rather valve disintegrate than sell out. he owns 50% of valve stock iirc, the question is does gabe have a price

like I have been saying.
Valve is not interested in selling.

its not related to his employment there. its related to how he sees MS as bad for gaming....very bad for gaming.
he is not a fan of windows at all.
Would be awesome. I would think they would allow some games to be multiplat similar to what they are doing with Minecraft if this were to happen.

That's why he made Steam OS, but that failed. Either way, it's possible, unlikely but possible.
Hope he doesn't, if he does MS will get rid of Steam and we'll all be forced to use the MStore. We'll probably be able to keep all our Steam purchases though.
