[QUOTE="Dudersaper"]I guess, but PC doesn't really come into play when talking about console exclusives. Or else lots of PS1 and Saturn titles (Final Fantasy VII, Panzer Dragoon, etc etc) couldn't be considered exclusive since lot were ported to PC. btw, Katawa Shoujo is freakin' awesome :PDudersaper
They still took them a year or more to port those games. In the case of the XBOX, a lot of games were released for the XBOX and PC at the same time or nearly at the same time.
Also, for some reason a lot of those 32-bit console games that were ported to PCs weren't as good as the PS or SS originals, whereas when it came to XBOX and PC versions, the PC versions were often the best ones.
Oh I definetly agree, I'm just saying that I don't think PC should come into play when discussing console exclusives.Especially because, if one wants to use extremes, you could say PC can play anything because of emulators so nothing is exclusive :P
Again, it's not quite the same case. There were no emulators in the 16-bit and 32-bit generations. You couldn't choose the PC as a real alternate platform for playing the console games you wanted back then.
Nowadays, even if you don't take emulators into account, there's plenty of alternatives to playing those old games, whether on game compilations or as digital downloads across most console and handheld systems.
With the XBOX and PC however, people actually could weight down whether to purchase their new games on the XBOX or PC. Just how is that different from multiplatform releases between consoles?
I don't see how you could say you can't take that into account when I'm sure a lot of people were making that choice, just like nowadays.
