A thread about addicting games

Probably Sin and Punishment Star Successor or Devil May Cry 4.
Oh and Ninety Nine Nights was incredibly addictive too
Xcom: Enemy Within. I was moving across the country. Walked out of my hotel room to my car which was packed with all my stuff. I actually unpacked my computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and mousepad just for the night so I could play Xcom Enemy Within in my hotel room.
PLUS, I was right in the a place I lived a few years before. I would've known all the best bars and restaurants to go to if I wanted. Nope. Xcom: Enemy Within compelled me to play it. AND, I was already burntout on packing and unpacking stuff. I couldn't help myself. It was such a fun playthru that I wanted to keep it going on the road even!
If by addicting we mean games where, save for a change either of the game or in the life of the player, (s)he'll be playing it forever, then it has to be exclusively games with multiplayer. MMOs, online shooters/racers, MOBAs...
Single player games can be "addicting" in that while they last we'll always want to keep playing them, but after a certain point they lose their replay value and the "addiction" is over. The same can't be said for multiplayer games coz the replay value is infinite.
If we just mean games where you're obsessing over them and want to keep playing, then that just depends on each person.
I really think MGS Ground Zeroes was a game a played a lot of this year, which is surprising, considering how small it is. it really is a great example of how you really don't need a huge map with thousands of features to create a great experience. I'm not saying games like those are bad, I love them, I just really think this shows how much can be done in a game with so little space.
These games grow on you and destroy your social life :
Freelancer , divinity original sin , witcher 2 and 1 , total war shogun 2 , civilization 5 , dragon age origins, alan wake etc
A good Madden or COD release can have me hooked for months. Unfortunately its been a long time since I did that. Maybe fortunately lol.
I am addicted to both Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4. I'm done with the SP campaigns. But, I just keep resetting the outposts over and over. As soon as I get done liberating all outposts, I reset them again.
Velocity Ultra and its sequel are the types of games that can turn you into a shaking crack monkey. No BS, easy to pick up and play, fast paced and skill based.
Advance Wars, XCOM, ______ Souls and Diablo too.
Souls series, Super Hexagon, most turn based strategy or rpg games and finally any game from AI factory.
Just take a look of my hours spent, there are just too many games to mention

Civilization 3 and 5. Other games i play i either quit or can't wait till im finished them so i can be done with them forever. Not civ, i dream about this game even when im not playing it... ya im sick.
Jagged Alliance 1 and 2 are very addicting for me also.
Man I don´t know how many quarters I spent playing PacMan, Tempest and Donkey Kong at Chispas ( an arcade ), spent ( and still spend ) hours playing Tetris in various systems, GOW3, GoW 1, 2 ,Ghost of Sparta & Chains of Olympus, still have some trophies to collect.

I think, this game is not addicting. I found a game in google play and it is called Crusader's Quest. I was bit curious about this game. I was doing a research about this game and it says that this game has a good gameplay. I think it was cool! Is somebody here played this game? Give me your insights. Thanks.

This my vote goes to Dota 2 almost 500 hours and still not even close to mastering the game haven't even played all the heroes yet so don't know all the game has to offer. Counter Strike any game in that series is really addicting have well over 1000 hours total in all the various CS game but TF2 a single game is not far behind have over 1000 in just that one game!
It started with Super street fighter II on my mega drive 2.
I've logged in hundreds of hours into each street fighter game but at this point, I think I'm starting to get over the game.
I don't know if I'll just fall back into the cycle when sfV is released.
Back when I was a kid, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was my fucking drug. Seriously. I couldn't live without that game. :P Honorable mentions include Super Mario 64 and the original Super Smash Bros, Melee, and Brawl. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was really awesome too, as well as Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
Now, I'd say Skyrim and the Far Cry games are addictive as hell when I get in the mood for them. Dark Souls 2 is fun when I'm not sucking ass. Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer can be addicting nowadays since half the people who play are no prestige noobs. A few days ago, I went 33-0, 31-0, and 47-8 (or was is 48-7?) in TDM. Man, that feels great. XD
