RE4. Hiding behind a villagers house with shotgun ready and hearing zombie moans for 10mins, then one comes behind and chokes me. nearly crapped myself
Bioshock. Especially while doing Sander Cohen's masterpiece

Well I would say Sillent Hill is one of the most disturbing games for me.I dont have anything against it,really its a fun game(somewhat confusing),but theres too much disturbing content. That one,and Sirene.Siren becouse you always have to be alert for those shibitos, and you cant kill them, just nock them out for sometime, and even thats hard.Yeah well thats about it for me.
The undead scenes in Thief 1 and the orphanage hospital in T3 really freaked me out.blenakarnieroadCradle in Thief 3 A mental institution where the patients were experimented on, that became an orphanage until a fire broke out killing many inside - oh and it still has some of the victims haunting the corridors. Definitely the scariest set of levels I've played.

Definitely the scariest set of levels I've played.I could'nt wait to get out of that level. What was so scary was the subtelty of it, it wasn't just based on horrible undead, it was so dark and threatening an environment.
after playing dead space, i conclude that it is the freakiest game around right now. if anyone has anything scarier than this, please post it right now.pjvan67The first 3 Silent Hills, the Fatal Frame trilogy and Forbidden Siren 1-2 are all scarier than Dead Space. A truly scary game relies on things other than well timed noises and jump scares.
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3
Dead Space
Nothing else comes close. Horror themed FPS just doesn't do it for me.
4. DEADSPACE - i guess what makes this game more disturbing than others is that it leaves the ending equally ambiguous / scary, so it leaves gamers thinking
3. SILENT HILL 2 - 2 words: Manequin Rape
2. BIOSHOCK - hands down, the most visually disturbing game ever made
1. PORTAL - I know its a strage choice, but in my opinion, disturbing games are the ones that leave you thinking, rather than leave you with cheap scares (which is why RE4 is not on my list). When you try to piece together what happened at the facility, who your 'helper' was, and tie the entire experience with the Half-Life games, its downright disturbing in the purest sense of the word.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. It totally destroyed the football game franchise.
It was quick, relentless and frightning to watch/play.
Seeing PES was once so great, this was hugely disturbing.
I'm going to have to say Manhunt. Few games have managed to deliver a sadistic and psychotic experience and fewer still have managed to do this with an amazing sound effects system.
The grungy presentation of the entire game felt very visceral and real to me, especially playing in the dark, at home by myself with the surround sound turned up. It was an awesome experience.
