Most intense game you've ever played?

What's the most intense game you've ever played? Be sepecific if you want but be careful of spoilers. For me it was playing Heavy Rain with two friends, we ran through half the game one night, and the other half two days later. While the whole things was intense, the ending was mega crazy. We were all screaming our heads off and it was a great time.

There's nothing more intense than playing Super Smash Bros. (pick whichever one) with 3 other friends. Multiplayer gaming at it's finest right there.

Team Fortress 2, Capture The Flag, and both sides have a score of 2 and you need 3 points to win. Man...what a rush.

gears of war 1, right before kim died

When you break into Nova Prospekt in Half-Life 2 and the hunters swarm in on you in the courtyard. Also a dungeon in Skyblade online, you only had one shot at getting a VERY special sword on the 99th floor and around ten mid-leveled members of my guild came to help me. Most of them died sacrificing themselves for me and taking the mobs and lag came in on the 74th floor and my only other mate didn't see where I went because of the lag so I got swarmed on and killed.

That game was chop full of intense moments, both emotionally and dextorius.

Mirror's Edge pops immediately to mind. Running from the cops was exhilarating. It's one of the only games where I found myself tensed up and holding my breath at some parts.

DBZ Raging Blast 2.

I don't know about the most intense, but a good rails-on shooter at an arcade can do the trick for me sometimes. Just having to deal with multiple people on screen, whether good or bad, and having to choose which ones to shoot. It can be intense at some points!

Fighting the Tyrant in RE code veronica X, such an epic moment for me.

RB2 is one of the worst by far

Some Street Fighter and Smash Bros. matches have become pretty eintense for me.

Also bomberman 64... Pretty much one of the best multiplayers ever made. We used to turn the timer down and see who could survive the meteor storm the longest.

I'm stuck between 3.

Heavy Rain was pretty intense and emotionally draining at times. The "cutting" scene was a lot to bear, and I'm so used to hacking and shooting off limbs I didn't think it would have such an effect, but its seen and played through in such a visceral and violent way that it makes it much more unsettling.

Amnesia is also terrifying. Its hard to stand the oppression half the time, dealing with a Sanity so low you can barely see, constantly seeing shadowy figures at the corner of your eye (where no one is), and the constant feeling of danger and being hunted. Its actually caused my hands to shake and my palms to sweat.

Finally, Call of Duty 4. Mile High Club was one of the most skill demanding missions (if not the most) I've ever played, focusing on lightning reflexes to get through. Search and Destroy has also been pretty intense. Nothing like being the last man alive and killing the entire enemy team with 2 clips in your pistol and a knife. I actually threw up once playing a particulary crazy Search match.

Dead Space 2 on Hardcore was pretty intense because one death would set you back quite a bit.

It's beating the Mile High Club level on MW1 on Veteran. This is easier on the PC due to the lean function but on the 360 or PS3 it's a nightmare.

For games I played with others I'd say Bomberman World for PSOne was pretty full on, Diablo 2 with friends was intense & World of Warcraft's pvp was pretty hectic back when it was fun to play WoW. Solo I'd have to go with Half Life 2, God of War III & R-Type Delta.

the first Mega Man game on NES, dam I put a lot of effort into beating that game!

I loved playing it with my cousins. We used to play Aaahhhuuuuhhhhguh tag were my cousins crazy aim with the explosive shotgun used to dismember anyone it hit and the rest of us tried running away from him but never made it far, we also used to play a ton of different ways with all the silly weapons it has fun times.... Silent Hill 2. I need to play that game again.

Two different kinds of intense...
1) Resident Evil for the PS1 - like so many people!
2) Ridge Racer and WipEout. I don't play too many racers, but I've always loved those two series. The staring, concentration, and constant quick + precise actions of racing games make them super-intense!!

For me, very little has matched the tension of playing System Shock 2 at night.
