Greetings, pull up a chair!

As you can see, this discussion will be about your most memorable experience in a game, be it a boss battle or opening scene.

For me, I would have to say the scene in Portal 2 where GLaDOS is woken up and greets you with her oh so charming sarcasm. Gave me chills everytime.

Playing Command and Conquer, and waiting for each new installment upon hearing about it. Red Alert (the first one) was probably my favorite.

Halflife, for obvious reasons.

Team Fortress Classic, for it was my first online game and incredibly fun.

Aces over the Pacific (a classic Dynamix flight sim), my dad and I would take turns dueling fighter aces in different planes. That game was incredible for its time.

Oh, so so many:

The first time you switch between characters in GTA V and find Trevor just wandering aimlessly, in his underpants, drunk as hell. It was hilarious and it was so GTA.

The first time entering Mexico in RDR, the music, the sun rising in the distance, me and my horse in a whole new world. Priceless.

First time entering the big wide world outside of the initial, hub city of FF XII, it was so big, you could go anywhere and it really made FF XIII feel like a huge step back some 10 years.

First time in a car chase in Driver, ripping through the streets, the alleys, pedestrians jumping out of the way, what a triumph!

Pretty much all of LISA the Painful and it's expansion the Joyful will stick with me for a very long time. If I had to pick one moment in particular it would be the last fight in the Joyful.

Playing Timesplitter 4: Future perfect with my best friend on PS2. We completed the game so many times, and we always laughed so hard at the cut scenes. Specially the one were the scientist meets himself from the future. "It's ME! Grandpa? No, it's me from the future! Grandpa?" xD

I just wana add a few more:

Fight Night 4 - Seeing the ps3 graphics for the first time and snapping an opponents head back with a sweet uppercut, mmm mmm mmm

MGS 4 - Fight with Liquid Snake, hand to hand combat, beautiful camerawork, the sun setting in the distance, it was quite easy but just exceptionally well handled, speaking of which...

MGS 4 - Radiation chamber!

The Last of Us - Don't wana spoil it for anyone but the final moments escaping the facility

Resident Evil 4 - The shoot out in one of the villages where they have something burning on a bonfire or stake, I can't quite remember the details but finally getting to use the over-the-shoulder point of view, on multiple enemies, along with the melee attacks, it really was revolutionary at the time.

Dialogue with Myron in Fallout 2 - With high science you beat him at his own game. THAT'S how role playing games should work.

The Las of Us - as already mentioned, the very final scene is incredible

Strongest memories relating to games is the atmosphere of my local smokey arcade - the smell of the place especially, people always smoking inside and it was all dark and misty inside like a medieval tavern. Playing beat um up games, kids buying pot from behind the counter and getting change for 10p if you told the attendant to change your 5p coin into 2ps, I especially recall a time where I thought I was being pick pocketed but it turned out to be some old guy feeling me up, but I was determined to finish the stage of Golden Axe 3 before I could deal with being violated.

Warhammer Online; the game was shut down forever in 2013, and this is happening during the very last minutes of it.

I was playing my T1 Witch Elf (stealth assassin type) and noticed enemy Warrior Priest and Slayer next to the Ship Battlefield Objective flag in Nordland. Normally I would stealth and try to kill something, but the shutdown message was already on - it could happen every second - and everyone, no matter friends or "enemies" (last word loses it`s meaning in such moments :) - was cheering at each other, doing WAAAGH! (kind of WAR salute/cheer) in chat and all that. So I carelessly approached my enemies, in order to spend last moment jumping and fooling around with them or whatever.

BUT to my shock, Warrior Priest attacked me immediately, and Slayer joined the hunt after a couple of seconds of hesitation. WP´s behavior looks perfectly logical to me in hindsight, because chances that I didn´t have his or blood of his alts on my daggers are practically zero :)

I quickly jumped down to water and off to coast, trying to run away and restealth. They followed me, spamming their range abilities so my re-stealth attempts (one had to cast stealth in WAR) were constantly interrupted and health was going down. I was thinking to myself something like "Oh my god, I don´t want to spend last seconds of this wonderful game being slaughtered like a chicken!" Some 30 sec of drama later (needless to say, these looked like eternity to me!) I finally managed, from 2nd attempt, to break line of sight and restealth behind a rock, on some 10% HP.

So, after my heart skipped a couple of beats, instead of being sad about the shutdown - I spent last seconds of WAR shamelessly jumping of joy (and laughing like an idiot IRL) somewhere on the Nordland beach :)

There are so many, certainly I'll forget some...

Most memorable games story-wise, especially these moments:

The Witcher 3 - Battle at Kaer Morhen and the death of Vesemir (didn't finished the game yet though)

Mass Effect - ME1: Choosing between Ashley or Kaidan / ME2: Suicide final mission

Red Dead Redemption - John Marston murder by the end

Final Fantasy X - Discover that Tidus is a fayth

Star Wars KotOR - Discover that I was Revan

Star Wars KotOR II - No specific moment but the whole story is one of the best in Star Wars lore, even better than KotOR I. PS: you have to play it with story restoration mods to know what I mean.

In terms of gameplay, these games really impressed me (no specific order):

GTA V, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Titanfall, Shadow of Rome, God of War I, II and III, Counter Strike 1.6, Halo (all games), Dota 2, Jedi Knight (all games - especially the Movie Battles II mod for Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy), Dark Souls...

Even some oldest games, like: Unreal Tournament, 007 Goldeneye, Star Fox 64, Zelda (Ocarina of Time, Link's Awakening), Sonic 2, Mortal Kombat III, Doom 1 and 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Pokemón Red...

Most memorable for me was Ultima 7. I got this game right after i got a 386 pc. And it was actually the first real IBM pc game i ever got. Before that the closest thing to a pc i had was an atari.

It kinda ruined many future games for me because of how unlinear and open the game was. Nothing came close to this game for many years. Even the developer of the game could never make a proper sequel, they completely lost all sense of what made this game great.

Final part of Walking Dead Season 2, Episode 3. If people chose the same option as me, you can pretty much screenshot the moment she loses her last bit of innocence.

When I was at the last boss row in Final Fantasy VII, the first FF game that I made it to the end and the battle was hard enough as it is until I discovered with horror that there is a third boss at the end ...

The first game that I finished as a kid at the end of the 80s ... Mega Man 3, it was an epic moment for me.

Persona 4 the Golden, hit me hard. That game came in a weird moment of my life and the story and the caracter grabbed me for a whole year. I finished the True Ending the game the same day my Grand-Pa died it was wierd.

Final Fantasy Tactics was amazing from start to finish. The game took me a long time to finish and it was amazing to have to think of our habilities and check out what outcome it would do because the hability would take 3 turns before it works and the ennemy won't move before it but he could died if other caracter can get close enough. Liked it. and the ending wow so Game Of Throne :P

Just running around the environment in the beginning of Super Mario 64. It's nothing special anymore, but anybody that played it in 1996 knows what I'm talking about.

Back in the late 90s me and my friends used to get stoned then we'd play multiplayer battles on Goldeneye, 1080 Snowboarding, F Zero 64 and Mario Kart 64.

I have some of my best memories in life from that era.

Aah the happy carefree days before wife, kids and a mortgage!!
