What underrated games do you think were actually a little overrated? For me, Beyond Good and Evil. I thought it was decent, but before I got it, thing was praised as being a gem that no one really played. It was alright, but it wasn't that great.

I have to disagree,I think that Beyond Good & Evil was one of the greatest games in history.
Gonna have to go with Psychonauts. I bought that game over XBL because I'd heard so much about it and because I'd loved the old Lucasarts games. Psychonauts really didn't do it for me at all.
It's amazing how many people just missed the point of this thread. Anyway, I'd have to agree with Beyond Good And Evil. I just didn't think it was anything special. There were better platform/adventure games at the time the game was out.

Definetly. But I don't think that it what this thread is about. I think Psychonauts was the best platformer since the N64 days. And the funniest one ever. Goggolor!
Heh how can a game be underrated and overrated at the same time? Is it referring to score or of peoples general opinions? You can't have a game be overrated that was enjoyed by few and recieved mediocre scores. Or a game that recieved high marks and tons of fans be underrated. It's like saying GTA IV was overrated, but because of it's high scores, sales, and priase, it's underrated... makes no sense.

I disagree. The only fault I could find in BG&E was that it was too short. But it's still the best zelda clone I've ever played.
I believe marvel vs. capcom 2 is an "overrated underrated" game. People are paying loads of money to find rare copies of this game, when really it's just a mediocre 2d fighter that happens to have a lot of recognizable characters.
