Is it a joke? I hope that gamespot will post a message like: don't panic everybody, it was just a bad joke and we are sorry about that!
If they don't do that the best video game site will become a poor and useless game site like many others on the web. But I think they will go back since all the user's comments about this supposed new and upgraded system are the same:we don't like it!!!
The best thing in the former gamespot rating system is gone, I mean the gameplay, graphics, sound, value and tilt scores. More than that the reviews are now shorter.
