I was fine with Phoenix. Even with the healing field. Until I saw that last super that gives her all her health back. I know her name is Phoenix and they are reborn from their own ashes but come on! Even if it requires you to be at Level 5 (Maximum) I find that a little crazy :/
Awesome, now that hagger is finally revealed I can die happy since my 3 most wanted capcom characters have all made the roster.
How else would you have the Phoenix? She is a bad ass wrapped in a mother smurfer wrapped in a raw onion. If anything, people should be glad she isn't at her real full power. BTW, her trailer made me droooooooooooolI was fine with Phoenix. Even with the healing field. Until I saw that last super that gives her all her health back. Yea and its not like its unheard of for a character in one of these games, Gill did that in street fighter 3 as well. It was annoying but there are still ways around it.
Oh and by the way heres some leaked picks of akuma in MVSC3 for those who havent seen them yet

Really? They had to do a repeat Thor taunt for this game, one that doesn't stop until you tell him to? Wow...
Haha whats wrong with that? He talks all sorts of midevil trash and gains meter doing it. It's great.[QUOTE="Metamania"][QUOTE="jks22112"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfwoLXEk9QI&feature=player_embedded#! Best..Taunt..Ever.jks22112

Heads-up!
Both Akuma and Taskmaster are now officially confirmed! You have to unlock them though...how that is accomplished, I'm not sure yet, but you can unlock Akuma by scoring 2,000 points, while Taskmaster requires you to score 8,000 points.
Both characters were revealed this morning (01/17/11 to be exact!) You can see the videos for both characters here.
I'm happy about Taskmaster but not about Akuma - even though I knew he was leaked already...
One month to go...

They should put Gill in there. I mean, Marvel's putting in heavy hitters like Phoenix.
Metamania
I can already see people like Phoenix or even someone like Gill banned from professional competition, due to the resurrection powers they have.
I think it'd be interesting.Someone uploaded a review from a game magazine. Can't remember the name, but go here to read the scans.
They talk about how balanced MvC3 is and yet they talk about the final boss having an unblockable attack that can kill you outright. So much for their claim on balance, huh?

Well it's the final boss, so you should expect some cheap attacks. The cheapness of the final boss has no bearing on the game's balance; versus play is where the balance counts.
I have to say, I'm really liking Taskmaster. He may become one of my mains.

Reading that does make sense. As long as the final boss is unplayable, it shouldn't be a problem.
However, I do forsee a character like Phoenix being banned from tourneys, due to having healing powers and able to restore energy to both herself and to her teammates. Having her would make very unfair fights, IMO.
For anyone interested in any character and what they feel like or how they'll play, I found a 14-page MvC3 preview from IUp.com. it's basically their ultimate guide for just about every character in the roster. I think they could be missing a few, but they've added a lot of information about the characters, so feel free to browse at your own leisure.
You can see the guide here.
Would I still be able to reserve Marvel vs Capcom 3 on Feb. 1st? And an issue that I had with the second one was never being able to do combos. I've heard that it'll be easier to do that in this game because of the TvC-like controls. I've never played TVC so what does this mean?
Well, TVC is pretty easy mode, atleast imo. And this will be even easier due to the dedicated launcher button, so you don't even have to figure out what attack launches the opponent in the air to continue the combo.
ANd you should still be able to reserve it. I think even up til a week from when the game comes out you can reserve it, but even if you can't you should be able to find a copy at any store. It's a big release.

Gamestop is no longer taking reserves for the Special Edition, dont know if its the same for the original version but its one thing to take into consideration, I also dont know if its like that elsewhere though.
And I gotta say, is anyone else as disappointed with megamans exclusion as I am? Im just baffeled by some of capcoms decision concerning the roster of the game, its good but i get the feeling like brawl that it will leave something to be desired.

Yeah, Capcom's reasons for excluding Mega Man is not justified, given how: 1) Mega Man's been in the past two MvC games, and 2) Dante has every single weapon from DMC3. If they're concerned about his moveset, well, there are 10 games they could've gotten ideas from. Personally, I wanted X, who also would've worked well in MvC3.
In other news, Sentinel confirmed?

I actually heard he was deconfirmed. But I could be wrong!
Here's an idea...release the game, get downloadable characters in packs.
BranKetra
I have a feeling this is going to happen. People are wanting characters left and right and I think Capcom will eventually give in to their demands and release more characters that were originally confirmed, but couldn't be included in the final version, such as Phoenix Wright, Frank West, and Mega Man, among others.

Id be cool with that, anything is better than buying a full price super version down the line (which has me worried a bit that they might do that)
http://www.fightersgeneration.com/screens/mvc3leak.htm Those images seem way too real though. I dunno Niitsuma doesn't seem like a huge troll like ono, but its right there in the image. IMO.
Also, as expected MVC3 is at Evo, and MVC2 is not, neither is SSF2T. The death of some old old games. http://evo2k.com/?p=852
Well, probably for the initial release. But if they are going to add additional characters such as Jill and Shuma Gorath as downloadable characters, then i'm sure the FINAL final roster is going to be much bigger.I wonder if this is now going to be the complete roster?

It's going to get bigger and bigger, because as I said, people are still wanting to see characters like Mega Man and Frank West in MvC3. I don't blame them, but I don't want this game to be a game where they have to be in there for the sake of it and mess up the balance completely. That's one thing that I am very much worired about MvC3 - the balancing. MvC2 was NOT properly balance and was therefore just a huge mess gameplay wise. So I hope they correct things with MvC3, both balance wise and gameplay wise. All indications are strongly positive at this point, you know?
Huge, sweeping question:
What are the gameplay differences between Super Street Fighter 4 and MvC3? I've never played a MvC game, so I'm wondering what to expect (or if I should even buy it). I know there's a tag-team dynamic, and a ton more juggling than SSF4 for starters.
Anyone care to fill me in?

This is all very fine, but where are my Rival Schools characters? Come on Capcom!
Business_Fun
After Batsu's appearance in TvC, I was hoping that Capcom was going to revive Rival Schools. Still waiting...
