There's nothing like Baldurs Gate on modern consoles. Dragon Age might be similar (although I don't think it will be great), but it doesn't have co-op and it probably won't be as long or as deep.

The controller's the big problem. Console's contollers can never do as much as keyboard &mice for a RPG or RTS game. Think about it if you play WOW with a 360 controller, that must be a pain...

I couldn't ever get into Baldur's Gate for some reason, unfortunately.

I think he may be talking about Baldur's Gate : Dark Alliance 1 & 2 for the consoles. They were action RPG games with co-op in them

I was thinking the same thing, TC is talking about the hack/slash action game BG: DA for the consoles.

only thing like it that i know of out on the X360 Sacred 2: fallen angel, but if i were you sit it out and wait for Dragon Age: Origins for the X360

Seriously, if you've never played Baldur's Gate before, get the collection. It is much much better than Mass Effect (which I still consider a remarkably good game).

There will never be a game like Baldur's Gate (I do hope you're referring to the original PC game... if you're referring to the Dark Alliance games... ugh...) on any console. Hell, I'm pretty convinced that there's never going to be a PC game as great as the Baldur's Gate series ever again either.

If you don't mind dated graphics then there's really no competition. Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 are the absolute pinnacle of the RPG experience, Computer or Console. Mass Effect was a great game, but it doesn't even get close.

Helen has played baldur's Gate 1 & 2, and enjoyed it immensely. The closest I got to Baldur was Fable.

I loved Dark Alliance. Definitely one of the better hack-n-slash-n-collect-loot games out there!! On the 360 there's Too Human. I haven't played it so I won't recommend it, but it's worth checking out.

If you're talking about hack 'n' slash like Dark Alliance you might like Sacred 2: Fallen Angel for the 360.

Last gen Xbox games like Dark Alliance: (not sure if they are BC with the 360)

Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes

Champions of Norrath 1 & 2 (pretty much a Dark Alliance clone)

If you are talking about the PC games then you might like the Neverwinter Nights and/or Icewind Dale series.

Co-op Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 will always be fun.
