Look up "Half-Life 2: Orange Box"; it includes HL2, episode 1 & 2, portal & Team Fortress 2. Also check the Team Fortress 2 clip of the heavy weapons guy.

As to why no one is talking about it, that might be down to the fact i think it isn't really a big game. By that i mean its more of a simple "use the portal game and solve the puzzles in the maze" style game that Valve created to try out a few things. If you remember HL2's release Valve stated they wanted people to use the gravity gun to solve puzzles and there was some in HL2 that needed the GravGun. Then in Episode 1 there was a lot of gravity gun usage aswell. So i think portal is abit like "wow we came up with a cool idea for players to use, lets make a short game about it and make it link to Episode 2 somehow". Recent news suggest that playing portal will shed more light onto Episode 2's story than playing Episode 2 will...weird i know, but they've done this i think so it will make fans of HL2 actually play portal all the way through to find out more about the HL2 story.
